The Haul: December 2016

Got this goodwill in the mail today .

I didn't think anything of it as I already had one and this one is a duplicate.. when I was cleaning it, it appeared different. I pulled my other one out and sure enough

It has additional wording ( left one in the top pic) and doesn't have the groove cut out down the middle. (New good will is the center one )

 

Hey it's Goodwill day. Got me one today as well (model 160).



I really just wanted the Schick C1 but the lot came with and turned out quite nice once cleaned up: the aforementioned Goodwill, the C1, a 1906 Silver Single Ring, and a '51 Superspeed.

 

Great haul !

 

Pleased. Was thinking I'd unload the Gillettes but they look so nice I guess they'll stick around for a while. Need a bigger den.

Just when I thought I was finished with the Gillettes...

 

I've heard it's a sleeper. Been on my list for a while and it popped up for under $12. Probably won't use it until next year

Edit: First shave with a Voskhod...most wondermous. A close second to my Tech. Grandson won't be getting this one.

 

I usually don't leave the prices on, and neither does the stores usually, but I had to brag about the Fatboy IN the case! Not my first FB but definitely my first case for one. What's disappointing about this is I just bought a FB by its self last week for $25.

Also, my first bullet tip(I have the regular tip already), and I've never heard of a Probak, so I picked it up also. (Along with another tech, SS, and unused Colgate puck)


Edit: Aw crap! I just noticed one hinge on the FB case is broken.

 

The only old shave gear my dad passed to me, a pair of these. One is a Schick, the other an Eversharp. I tried, but found better shave with the Gillette DE's I owned at the time. I ought to give them another shave...

 

Those Probaks are somewhat rare.

Congrats on the haul!! Great selection!

 

SWMBO suggested that my dresser was filled with brushes and that maybe I could do something about it. I found these two tackle boxes at Walmart. It just about took care of all the problem. There are nine others that did not make it. I just set the knots in them and they need to sit for a couple of days.

 

Surprise

I just got home right now and my wife said I have a package. I panicked because I did not remember ordering anything.

Anyhow I received this soap. I immediately opened it to take a whiff. I made my wife smell it to. We both came to the same conclusion. We wanted to taste it. It smells that good. I will be using this tonight.

To whoever sent this to me. A HUGE THANK YOU. I LOVE THIS PLACE. You all are the best.
