The Haul: December 2016

Sometimes I just feel the urge to load an old-fashioned roll of black-and-white film for some street photography ... so I bought this:

It's odd but when I go into the wild razor snipping I see way more vintage cameras than I do old shavers. Back in high school I had (and lost) a Minolta SRT-101. Real nice (at the time) for a kid. I used to develop my own stuff too. I sure wish I still had it. A cool time.

I know I am an unabashed "SchickHead", but the Krona is the only TTO I still own other than my birth quarter SS. If I had to get rid of one? Who cares about a birth quarter?

 

Can you still buy film anymore?

 

What's the difference in a krona vs non krona?

 

Krona was the only TTO model Schick made.

 

Oh ok because some say krona and some don't. I was just wondering if there was a difference. Are the head the same?

 

Yes, you can. Though not as common anymore, many shops still sell color and b/w film rolls.

 

I gotcha. I was mostly teasing on you. That is super cool.

 

As far as I know they are, other than the logo stamping on the top.

 

They are the same head but the silver tip ones without the stamp are a little heavier and sturdier.

 

Funny, I was more concerned about the battery (assuming it uses one).
