I may try and yank it out but it sounds futile. perhaps a centered 24mm drill is a better option.

I stood in the rain watching the USPS carrier walking the neighborhood. My JR brush arrived! Just perfect Jim. The shape is very much like an Omega Pro #10098 but with the synthetic knot. It's a winner

I'm glad it made it, and I hope it serves you well. I think it has some pretty grain in it, and it feels good in the hand, too.
