Double wowzers!!

 

Ok...hate my spam...lol. here's a really good development of it. I was even complimented by an internationally renowned deep sky photographer on this photo, especially it being my first attempt!



Here's a redeveloped Orion Nebula too:


Keep in mind these were taken with a Nikon D5100 that has poor high ISO.

Thanks guys! Sorry for posting the nebulas over and over. I figured I'd share the best possible development. The nebulas (two) are 14 images stacked, the Orion nebula is about 35 images stacked (unfortunately I think my focus was a bit off, or a blurry pic made its way in), and the andromeda galaxy was about 33 pics stacked.

You take a picture of it over and over, then stack them to reduce noise and increase detail. Since it was my first time out I didn't know about the other 80% of the pictures i should have taken to make them even better...but that will be for next time!

Our Christmas tree is up, and hasn't fallen over yet. Between the cats and grandbabies it's holding up. For now
I spent a couple of hours with my little granddaughter and big boy grandson yesterday, it's such a great honor to be able to play a role in their lives.

 

Today is going well. Sunshine and 40 something. Tomorrow however, the Siberian Express is supposed to pull into our station. May have to break out the long john's for under the uniform.

 

I started a Christmas tree thread, but haven't had any takers. Gotta be fun to have the kiddos around.

 

I got my car inspected today; all is well. Later I went to tutor a kid in Biology. (I know her family from the archery club.) She's polite, bright & hard working, but the wording of test questions can confuse her. This is a common problem. Her little sister Phoebe is 7 and adorable. Every time I come over, Phoebe has to have a minute of my time to show me something ( her hamster, somethig she drew, etc.). I enjoy thse visits; it doesn't feel like work.

 

I obviously don't really know you, but you are a very sweet person. Our (collective) kids were/are lucky to have you.

My grades are done, fruit sales money is deposited and just 2 hours until the staff Christmas party. Come on Christmas Break! This teacher needs a little adult time!

 

Temperature here in Central NJ 25, with the wind blowin@ 30knts. Colder than a welldigger's..ankles. Buddy of mine down in Key West...82 and sunny. There is no gravity, the world sucks.

 

Another day closer!

 

It's cold here. Actual temp is somewhere around 3 degrees, and it's well into the negatives with wind chill. This time last year I was in south Texas where it rarely gets below 70 degrees. I miss being warm.

 

Another freezer day here in work. Got the DaMart on today though. Nice an' toasty.

 

I am off work today, and spending some quality time with my oldest daughter as we are about to bake cookies. What more could a dad ask for on a weekday?

 

Make sure she lets you lick the bowl.
