The decadence increases. Today is TSD themed shave with all the items have a relationship to TSD except for todays frag.

Route 66 Cavendish lathered with a Jayaruh 122 and whisked away with a Takehana Feon (purchased from TSD member) that was stropped on my favorite Dry Gulch strop. I topped of this decadence with some vintage Chanel Cuir de Russie EDT.

An excellent shave, smooth but just a tiny nick and BBS. I am ready for the day. In honor of @wristwatchb I am wearing my Seiko Cocktail Time watch, another favorite of mine.

    December 15 - Brushless Decadence

    Schick E2 injector / Personna (? ) blade (unknown # of shaves)
Billy Jealousy Hydroplane Superslick Shave Cream (brushless)
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original
    Primalan Almond Oil Emulsion

I continued trying brushless products today with a sample of Billy Jealousy gel. As a shave cream it works very well. After applying it once to a wet face, I was able simply to re-wet my face between passes to keep reactivating the slipperiness. In fact, in addition to my normal two crisscross passes with a bit of cleanup, I actually did an extra pass ATG on my cheeks and neck with the E2 tonight, something that I never do.

The alum gave just a mild tingle, which was not bad considering the aggressive razor I was using and the extra pass going ATG. The witch hazel quietened it down again. I then used a sample of ProDerma almond oil moisturizer to top it off. I quite liked that product -- a light, pleasant almond scent that faded quickly, and the emusion sank in and moisturized my face and neck without feeling greasy.

I think a user's opinion of the Billy Jealousy Hydroplane, on the other hand, will mainly depend on their view of silicone as a shaving cream additive, because the primary active ingredient is dimethicone -- a water-activated silicone. If you like the idea of putting silicone on your face every day, then you will get a great shave and love the product. If you are leery of heavy silicone skin use, you will get a great shave and hate the product.

Two other points about it: I found the scent is ointmenty but close to non-existent. And the gel clogged up my injector, not to the point of not working, but quick rinses didn't remove it, and I had to open it after to clean it properly.

    Razor - 1946-47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
Soap - Route 66 Sweeney Todd
    Brush - Semogue 620
    Post - Alum

One more day on the Rapira PL with the Aristocrat. Subbing in the Route 66 Sweeney Todd and Semogue today. I ordered a few samples of the Route 66 to try a few scents. See what else I might like. The lather was awesome with the Todd again and I found myself humming a couple of the tunes from the musical/movie. Probably a good thing I wasn't using a straight. I might have set up shop and tried attracting a few customers.

Two passes and a touch up to a near BBS and it's smooth, smooth, smooth feeling from the lanolin. Love it. Alum was quiet again so that's three days in a row of really excellent and decadent shaves from the 'Crat and Plux. I'll haveto see what I can do tomorrow to keep it coming!

Halfway through December already! Great month with a lot of fantastic gear and shaves. Being decadent is SOOOO much fun!

Route 66 Lumberjack time... Thanks to @Douglas Carey for starting me off with Route 66 a year ago! Flawless lather for two passes of automatic DFS. Tried the @jimjo1031 blade sample again, and again it worked out great. Alum was good, and my skin felt really nice after the regularly scheduled heroics. Big weather coming in on the prairie, gonna be @PickledNorthern cold by Saturday. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a fantastic Friday!

    Enter The Voskhods!

Today my 100 pack of Voskhods arrived, signalling the beginning of a long focus, as I intend to buy no new blades until I finish off my current stash.

The razor: my trusty RazoRock German 37 slant
    The blade: Voskhod
The brush: RazoRock Plissoft Big Bruce
    The Soap: Tabac
The aftershave: my new favorite, Barbasol Brisk

The maiden voyage with the Voskhod was pretty impressive. Not the sharpest, but man was it comfy. Ended up with a fine shave and little to no irritation after 3 passes and some cleanup, including some buffing around the jaw line. Things are looking promising.

Disclaimer, I am a deep South redneck.

Prairie dogs against the snow cover with 5.56 out here for kicks. Varmint rules apply. 24-7-365. It's flat, so 400-500 yards with iron sights is "doable", if you have optics it's about the ammo and barrel length.

This is the time of year where we would hunt them at night. Clear, and a full moon with snow. Good optics gather the light in for you, and 5.56 FMJ so you don't leave big holes in the hide. It can be a real trip.

Lung shots like a deer, I assume? Here we just mighy take head shots. State pays a small bounty and takes the coyote or fox carcass if you call. Most ranchers here will let you shoot them on their land during calving times.

Very nice! Voskhod and GSB are the only blades I buy in 100 pack. You want find better blades for the money, except maybe Astra SP.

I think down there they call it Kentucky windage. ;p

I guess up here they may call it Canadian windage. :) Over 400-500 yards it will make a difference if your head shooting.

    Windage
is a force created on an object by friction when there is relative movement between air and the object.

A wonderful shave this morning to end the week. The big Zenith Boar whipped up the Nuavia Blu quickly and easily. The softness of the brush coupled with it's good backbone makes face lathering a pleasure. Three passes with minimal touch ups ended with a near BBS. I am finding the ATT Calypso R1 to be an efficient and comfortable razor to use. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
