SOTD: Chilly Saturday morning almost had me breaking out the scuttle. Vintage shave using a Frederick Reynolds Near-Wedge 7/8," Crowne & Crane lovely-scented "Thuringian Forest"(Describe the scent? "Geranium, Lavender, Orange Blossom, Clove, Nutmeg, Pimento, Red Oak, base notes of Cedarwood, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Musk and Coffee" :signs002:) tallow soap, Lijun 30mm silvertip, and Fine 'Snake Bite' finish. Wonderful start to the day.

Yes. Shulton. Early 70s. Also got original and burley as it was a gift set. Un opened ebay purchase. Hope the wifey does not find out about this purchase. No sane man pays that much for old spice. But i see it as a time machine, i am a 6 year old boy smelling my grandfather and he is back for a brief moment.

Love the handle on that brush. Always have a cup (waiting for my meds to kick in) before shaving, I only drink 3 or 4 cups a day anyway. Not sure what several cups would do to my meds. I think I`ll just continue the same routine. Happy shaving and Merry Christmas to you and yours, Bill.

I have 2 razors that use the Artist Club blades. I experienced the same problem with technique. Shaved twice with each razor and ended up with a really bad effect, so I shall take your advice and concentrate on technique, I just might learn something. Thanks and Merry Christmas. Best wishes, Bill

Sunday's shave plans - sorry for not showing any pictures:

    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Astra day 7
    Cerrus S/C :love055: :love055::love055: :love055::love055: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing:
    Lucky Tiger A/S Balm :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Max Refreshing A/S Splash :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

This Cerrus cream is no longer in production because I think that the company in Germany either closed or was taken over by another company. Anyway, this stuff smells very nice and it lathers really easily. There's a slight cooling effect from it, and its skincare is pretty good. A German friend of mine told me it was selling at a very low price - perhaps a dollar in most places. The Lucky Tiger is so hard to beat in the skincare department and it feels so cooling. The Max Refreshing aftershave from Bulgaria is really strongly-mentholated and smells terrific! ;) :D

Good shave. I'd say this was my best shave with the ATT M plate, this razor could become a daily shaver. My L and L Grooming Co. brush is beautiful! The Game Changer knot is my least favorite of the synthetic knots, it doesn't hold water, acts and feels like a boar knot. The Tuxedo and Plissoft blow the GC away. IMHO. YOWD. B&M Seville is wonderful!! Nice barbershop scent with amazing post shave. B&M Reserve Classic is so soothing and healing, plus smells great. I used an Astra SP blade, one use and binned it. Razor: Schick I1 injector
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Stirling Ozark Mountain
Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice, comfortable shave this morning with Ozark Mountain. This is a terrific soap. I guess Stirling is terrific all around. Such good performance. This is almost a redemption shave after my sub-par hotel shaves last week.

    Have a great day!

The nostalgia of using old razors is appealing to me. Today I went with my Gillette Slim. Good shave. Not so comfortable with a few nicks. I'm not sure if I want to stick with the slim for a while and get better with it or go back to my favourites. Hmmm.

Brush: Rubberset 400 Unmarked w/Omega Pro 49 knot
    Soap: Route 66 Frozen Margarita
    Aftershave: Route 66 Frozen Margarita

After the deadly deuce team of Charlie (@wristwatchb), and Kathleen (@Salty Belle) tried to pull a fast one, I was able to figure who gave me a wonderful Christmas gift of 2 Route 66 aftershave balms. Thank you my friend Charlie. I really appreciate your present. This was the first time I've used the Route 66 Frozen Margarita Balm and it was wonderful.
Heading for the rack as I'm nursing a cold malfunction. I'll be up and ready for PT at 0530.
    Sorry for the indoor photo.

You can really feel the blade with this razor, but it was much more mild than I was expecting. I would say medium range shave, possibly even slightly mild as there is a real tight sweet spot with the angle. Overall great shave! Thanks
