I decided to try a one-handed shave tonight. It was 36 hours since yesterday's shave. It took a little longer, but it was a great success. I may just shave in the evening for the time being.

The Arko Shaving Stick face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #139 silvertip badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fatboy F2 with a Personna Super blade (17) gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Barbasol Brisk After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I had to shave with it once... Otherwise it's a (very pretty) paperweight.

    Decadent December!!

    December 17

Razor - 1947 Gillette Super Speed
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Proraso Red
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

Simple process to get the setup tonight. Change soap and brush and shave. Easy. The Proraso Red features a nice sandlewood scent that I'm getting to like quite a bit. And the BoS did its usual fine job. I did change up and bowl lather tonight which is rare, but I got a really nice lather out of it.

Two passes with the '47 SS and Ladas to another near BBS. I may have just gotten it but I'm not chasing it. Having too much fun and enjoying these quality shaves way too much. Once again I realized why Ladas is high on my list of great blades. An unsung Russian hero among the group.

Hope it's warmer where you are than where I am. And a bit less icy too. But hey, it's December, right? And at least it's Decadent in here!

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20161217_235228.jpg

Prep: shower with Pears menthol soap
    Razor: Gillette Redtip
    Blade: Big Ben (1st shave)

    Brush: RazoRock plissoft
Soap: Perfectly Natural-Citrus Mint Menthol/ Hop 2 it IPA Grapefruit pachouli
    Post: Osage Rub/ MITA Balm

I actually ended up shaving twice today. First time with this Perfectly Natural shave soap, they are both different formulas. The Citrus Mint one lathered much better and has a nice menthol effect. Pretty impresed with this soap, lathered well and is inexpensive. The IPA one did not lather very well with the test lather, but with a little effort it worked out well for the night shave. Both soaps have nice scents and are a somewhat hard consistancy puck. Got a BBS finish on the last shave and finished off with MITA balm. Very refreshing. Hope everyone enjoyed their shave!
