    image.jpg Hello,
Have been DE shaving for a few months now. Hadn't heard of Injectors before seeing references in the 30 day forum, and then started reading this forum (not all 664 pages, I guess I'm a slacker). Had no intention of jumping in and getting an injector until I had worked on my DE technique for a while longer...and then I visited my local 2nd hand store and saw these. Was quite pleased, as the condition seems really good. Have ordered some Chicks!
I do have a few questions, and would appreciate any advice I get:
1- I think the Schick is an I1, am I correct?
    2. There are two blades in the Injector case with the PAL, it appears to be unmarked besides the letters ERP on it. What are they, and are they OK to use?
    3. Does this need to be sanitized beyond a good wiping with Anti-Bacterial wipes?

    Thanks!

Scrubbing Bubbles and wait for the Chicks. That PAL Injecto-Matic is my favorite razor, it's amazing!

Yes, that is an I1. To sanitize I'd suggest using liquid dish soap and near boiling water. Let them soak in that for a 20 minutes or so. This will help clean them up as well. A toothbrush and some toothpaste after a hot soak will work wonders (although these already look really nice.) Just be aware that if there is not already a blade in these that you will need to put one in and then another following it. A blade should always be kept in an injector. The first blade inserted in an empty head almost always gets dinged on the stops and ruins the edge. The next blade will then go in undamaged.

I wouldn't use the old blades that came with the PAL. I'd recommend you keep an eye out for twin blades for that I1 - it'll turn it into a completely different razor. It will have a nice mild shave without them. I'd learn on that one first and then move to the PAL IM which is, IMHO, one of the finest injectors ever for a super close and drama free shave. Nice find. :happy036:

Great score! I love my I1 - terrific razor. I don't have an Injectomatic yet, but have used one on a pass-around and know they're good as well. Welcome to the party!

Thanks for the advice! Was planning on starting out with the Schick
Yes, there are blades in both, so shouldn't have to worry about ruining blades!

First time with this particular Schick G and nothing out of the ordinary. A very nice three pass BBS shave.

Consensus is this version predates the more common 1924 Sears Catalog model, the latter appearing in the second patent app, this one in the first. I don't see any advertising for this older model, the catalogs 1919-1922 were still promoting the 1914:

Calling @Bird Lives - how does this underside compare to your 1909 Shovelhead? :signs002:

It does look like the 1909 patent application and British razor. [IMG]

Nice score for your first injectors. It will be interesting to see which works better for you. Be prepared to ignore your DE stuff.....:D

I'm getting the Pal Injectomatic out of the display case and gonna give her another try tomorrow, this time hopefully it will provide as good a shave as you guys are getting.....
For whatever reason the Pal (3 different ones) hasn't come close to any Schick razor I own in providing DFS irritation free shaves.
