Three passes to get er done. A little extra work due to this smallish, light razor. Sharper than all get out. Ended up bbs, zero irritation:)

I was as smooth as silk after my shave this morning but somehow the Proraso Green cream gave me somewhat less of a chill than I usually get from it although it still felt cooling enough. The matching aftershave made up the difference very generously! :happy088: :happy088:

A much colder shave for me for Thursday morning:

Man, do I ever love my MITA soap - it's the regular version instead of the Glacial one but does it ever deliver on the menthol effect, and so do the Lucky Tiger a/s balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo! ;) :D

The Arko Shaving Stick face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #100 Two-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette English NEW LC with a Personna Super blade (29) gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Decadent December!!

    Razor - Soviet Consul
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

Sixth day on the Consul which means, of course, setting 6. Final day on the Rapira Platinum Lux and after yesterday's operator error I'm ready to redeem myself with a perfect shave. With the rise in irritation yesterday, though, I have a feeling I've passed the sweet spot for me on this razor. On the Gillette Slim my sweet spot is 6. Depending on how today goes I feel like 4 may be the sweet spot on the Soviet version.

Great lather as always with Arko and the first pass was uneventful. Still smooth but....that hint of harshness is beginning to creep in. Nothing serious but just that feeling that if I come off the cap at all I could feel it. I didn't reopen the cut from yesterday's mistake so that was good. Second pass was XTG followed by a half pass of ATG and slides as usual just to finish the neck. And, with no blood and no other problems the baby showed up. The gap is big on this razor and the exposure is making it easy to get effective passes. Now, how's the alum going to treat me?

On the rinse before the alum I already had a clue. I could feel some irritation just from the lather residue washing off and when I used the alum it makde it clear that the sweet spot for me is indeed 4 on this razor. Yesterday gave me a preview of burn from the alum, today brought the burn pretty consistently over my whole face with some stingers on my neck. Clearly the irritation is coming up fast on me. Could I use the razor at this setting to gain a two pass BBS? Yes. As long as I'm ready for the irritation. I think it's time to get the Nivea ready for tomorrow. Also tomorrow, the final blade, the Mighty Voskhod takes over for the final three shaves. It may be my saving grace.

Three days to the new year. No big plans here for New Year's Eve. SWMBO and I will probably cuddle up when I get home from work with a bottle of Danish Mead and a good movie to put a stake in the heart of this year. Here's hoping 2017 improves on many fronts, in spite of the odds we face. Happy Hump Day!!

    Razor - 1915 Aristocrat oc
    Brush - semogue 830
Blade - vintage Gillette 3 hole
    Gillette platinum plus ( 7)
    Soap- razorock lavender
Post - proraso preshave / Nivea sensitive
    A/S - lilac veg

Shave was pretty awesome! The vintage blade sucked major ass. It tugged a lot, but I wanted to try it with the aristocrat . I ended up swapping it out and finishing it with a used Gillette platinum . I got bbs with a few weepers.. but not too bad. Happy shaving gents

Marvelous shave with the PAL Adjustable injector razor this morning. This razor shaves every bit as good as it looks my friends. Smooth, efficient, comfortable. Wonderful lather from the Van Yulay "Jared" shave soap. A most slippery, creamy, protective lather. Very luxurious scent and post shave feel is second to none. If you haven't tried them I highly recommend Van Yulay. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day guys. :)

Another great shave this morning. I replaced the knot in the Brothers Bristles handle with a Tuxedo knot I received as a gift from @Douglas Carey . The Tuxedo knot looks fantastic and has good backbone with soft tips. As expected the MdC was very easy to lather. A 2 pass shave with touch ups ended in my normal near BBS. The Fine Lavender is not a prefect match to the soap but does provide a very nice contrasting herbal quality. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Mastro Livi Inox, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

In these days I like shaving with small Mastro Livi blades and I am using all of my 6/8 razors made by the revered and worldwide famous artisan from Perugia. It is the case of today's shave as I chose this stainless steel 6/8 full ground with a round point. Lovely shave, smooth and close as usual, Mastro Livi razors always deliver the excellence of shave. I also like lately using my Mastro Livi brushes as I believe the lofts he puts on these brushes are excellent and a joy to use. This bristle brush is absolutely amazing with a stiff backbone however soft enough to be pleasurable on the skin. Pinaud Clubman Classic did the rest with its round fragrance and good post shave action.
