My sample, now mushed into the bottom of an airtight container, is at least third hand. No telling how long a B&B myrmidon owned it before PIFing to my buddy who PIFed it to me. I learning to cellar tobacco because aging improves flavor. Mayhap it improved this soap. With only one lather on my face ( I almost typed,"under my belt" but that would be weird.) I'm not ready to say it dissipates early. Yes, I loaded my brush, whipped it up in my bowl, got in two passes with a shavette on training wheels - blunted heel & toe - without the lather breaking down. I did have to load up some more product for third pass & injector clean up. But to be fair to the soap, I was using a new-to-me badger brush, only my second of this type knot. I'll use either a boar or synth next time I lavender up, Bulgarian style.

    TLDR; B&B vendor? I didn't buy it.
It smells good & shaves decent.
    Use it 'til it's gone!

Another great shave this morning. I replaced the knot in the Brothers Bristles handle with a Tuxedo knot I received as a gift from @Douglas Carey . The Tuxedo knot looks fantastic and has good backbone with soft tips. As expected the MdC was very easy to lather. A 2 pass shave with touch ups ended in my normal near BBS. The Fine Lavender is not a prefect match to the soap but does provide a very nice contrasting herbal quality. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Excellent brush. Very cool of Doug.

The Tuxedo knot was a very nice surprise. Since I used silicon adhesive to install the previous knot in the Brothers Bristles handle it was a pretty easy process to switch things out.

Late post for my December 28 SOTD:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Nuavia Rossa
    Gillette Black Beauty

A little late for yesterday's shave, but I am back on my Black Beauty, and this was the first rough shave I have had this month. I had a little nick from the straight razor the day prior, and I opened it up. I couldn't get to close again, so I dripped some red stuff for quite a bit of the shave and a while after. It was tiny, but just wouldn't close up for some reason. The razor felt a bit rough for the shave as well. I had a new Feather, and I am not sure if maybe the doors didn't close tight enough.

I used the Nuavia Rossa sample, and this time used the left over lather as an aftershave balm. It actually worked fairly well, and my skin definitely felt soft after. My daughter said I smelled too strong a couple of hours after the shave, so the scent lasts a while. This soap is very good.

I hope everyone had a great day!

Another day, another Focus shave. Today it was TOBS Coconut Shave Cream and once again Canoe AS. The Greens are slowing down a little. "6" & "5" may have to go up to "7" & "6" tomorrow to get Wednesday's result. Have a great day everyone!!

    Razor: F2 Gillette 195 (3)
    Blade: Astra SP (4)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
Soap: Mineral Fusion + Dove Hydrating Cream

I have to attend an aunt's funeral mass today, so no fooling around with the razors. Solid DFS+.

I'm really liking this brush and, I hope, starting to get the hang of it.

    Thank you Jim

I love the photo filter Jim. My girls tell me the same thing about the scent. I use the left over lather as a balm and skip aftershave.

    -Feather SS
    -Omega 49
    -Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange
    -Stirling Orange Chill w/added menthol

I put a Super in the SS today, and I really think the additional exposure does help with the shaving angle. Obviously too soon to say for sure. Plus I was exceptionally careful this morning. Another observation would be that aside from my first class laceration I incurred yesterday, a few scratches showed up after the shave, and they were all:

    -In a row
-From the same pass, same side
    -Made with my off hand.

Wanna go with "technique trumps tools" on this one? I do. I would also add, "cocky can cut". Getting a little proud of myself over the good shaves I had been getting with another razor, I just grabbed this one and got after it like an old pro. Well I am paying for it with a face that looks like I fought off a weed whip.

BUT, all that aside, I got a fantastic shave this morning: a shave Crackstar would be proud of. Did an extra N-S pass just feeling out the razor, got my neck almost BBS except for my typical misses, and cleaned up pretty nicely.

    Have a nice day, everyone.
