1. Thanks-something about that Sandpiper told me "ya better try it".
  2. The Sharp Dressed Man has become a favorite of my wife, and Gentleman is one of my favorites.

  3. Gentleman is definitely a favorite, and my wife loves it. Therefore, it is decreed that I love it too.

  6. Have you read Rod's description of SDM on the website?
  7. well, I did, but perhaps a re-read is necessary? Hang on.
  8. Rod's description is what sold me on it! My absolute favorite description on their site (and a wonderful product, too!) has got to be Ben Franklin...

  9. oh-well, yes, it's a great description. But I liked the Sandpiper description as well, which is, as I say, what made me think I'd better pursue it. You like the Ben, eh? That description was a bit silly in parts, as I recall.

  11. Couldnt agree more...I believe (and say all the time) that what big bussiness has done is give a pathway for other companies to take there customers...and the key to this is CUSTOMER SERVICE.

  12. What is Baker Street redux?
  13. AFAIK, Rod is making/remaking the Baker Street scent from Strop Shoppe now that they are closed. I do not know the particulars, but I believe it was with the knowledge/permission of the original soaper, and possibly more scents to come??? There has been some discussion elsewhere, but I missed most of it.

    @ezlovan ??
  14. Interesting. According to a scent description I found it is:

"Scented with an intriguing blend of bergamot, patchouli, juniper & jasmine"

By the way, I know the beginning of this thread talked about the new handles. But wait, there's more. I asked Rod about this a couple of weeks ago and this was his reply:

We are working on stainless, titanium, and copper handles and heads. The handles are being polished right now, but we are still quite a ways off on the heads. We're still testing various designs. I'm hoping to release the handles in January, and have heads available by summer of 2017. As we still don't have the final product, it's hard to estimate the price. I'm hoping to keep the stainless razors (handle and head) under $100 though. If there is anything else I can be of help with, please let me know.

    Thanks so much,

    Rod

  16. Ordered three more Stirling soaps this morning: Barbershop, Sharp Dressed Man, and Orange Chill. Already have Executive Man and Bay Rum - both are great so now I need to expand the collection.
  17. The SDM is an outright classic, and NOBODY beats Rod at either mentholated soaps or straight up citrus. Excellent choices!

  18. I'm getting SDM aftershave as a sample...should arrive Tuesday.
  19. Thanks. I'm sure there will be a few more in the not to distant future. I'm finding soaps to be my weakness as far as collecting more.

  20. I am no soap expert, but I have been at this a while, tried a whole bunch, and my preferences run towards artisan soaps. I have yet to find a slicker soap, or one that has a more stable lather. When you factor in price, there is no better dollar to be spent.

Factor in that they are the epitome of a family owned business, and are both veterans, it might help explain why I have a couple dozen of their full sized soaps.

Aftershaves are a whole other topic.
