I think you are going to end up with a un even and excessiv worn spine by doing that.a narrowe hone or rolling x-strokes might work.or tourqe the blade and a little light pressure on the part of the blade that wont get contact with the hone might work.

If you want to go caveman on it, tape the blade{sharp end} and mark the spine with a Sharpie. Then hone the spine until its flat. Just concentrate on the high ends.

Todays hone was for @Heljestrand23 . Good news and bad news.
Bad news first: The blade is wonky{wavy}. I marked on the photo where it was. It was severe, enough to where if you look at the bevel, there is minimal bevel on one side because of it.
Good news: I was able to apply a little pressure to get the edge sharp, and set a bevel. not a pretty one, but a sharp one. I was concerned about it, so I took my time. I used my usual progressions of
1k, 3k/8k, 8k 12k 15k Welsh slate stones. Then some Chromium Oxide on a strop, then some linen work, and around 100 strokes on the leather. The entire edge is treetop popping sharp. I will shave with it later, to test it out.

Funny but I had thought about that very thing. I'll try it later this week. I don't think I can make it any worse really. I'm only out a few thousands of an inch, it should come out after a little work. Then I can see what happens next. Thanks buddy!

I've honed several like yours. It just takes a little finesse. But, flattening the spine a little, might be easier.

Here is one that was almost toast. It had a tiny crack in the blade, that was a little past the bevel, near the heel end. I didn't see it until the polishing was in progress. I ended up using an old axe sharpening stone to speed things up, and ground it down, trying not to screw with the geometry much. It worked well, at least I think so. I didn't throw it away. After the crack was taken care of, it took a while to get the bevel set, the edge was squared off. In the end, the edge was spectacular. this steel was pretty good. The razor was nice and straight through the entire honing. End result. extremely sharp edge.

Thanks again for the honing PIF! It makes me second guess those funky looking blades no matter how cool they look. I'll be working my way into honing sometime in January. Thanks for the beautiful work!

was time for a touch up on my koraat.used a naniwa 12k and my black ark,but did not liked the result.not very smooth and did not shaved as close as it should.
so i killed the edge and did a full progression hone with the ark as a finisher.now it`s smooth, close and comfy.i also saw that the bevel became slightly wider.which indicate that it was honed with more layers of tape or a thicker tape originally.this was a pretty fun blade to hone.

    NOS Clauss

Honed this NOS Clauss up today. It took a bit of work to get the tip sorted. The factory grind was a bit off center, only on the front 1/4".

It took a very keen edge and never had any chips forming. Nice light razor.
