I was the same with mine. #3 only. The other 2 plates were too mild.

The B 2 is a great razor, IMO. Good picture of fine gear.

I froze my tukhis off with this morning's setup - wowwwwwwwww, the Glacial MITA soap with its magnificent lather whipped up by my champion Plissoft synthetic made my eyes cry "tears of joy" during both passes and when I finished off with a cold water rinse I didn't know if I was coming or going. The Lemon Chill witch hazel and the Penguin prolonged that freeze for an extra hour. BBS was the final result, and I could not have enjoyed it more! :happy088::happy088:

    Booster Mosswood A/S Splash :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:

I wish this Brutalt Bra soap from Norway was cheaper because to pay over 20 bux for a small container is rather costly, but I must admit that it's awesome stuff. I love the mild lavender scent, it lathers very easily, and it leaves a very comfortable feeling. The Booster Mosswood is a must-have for me at all times. It's a Canadian barbershop classic with such a nice, old-school scent! ;) :D

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20161230_210609.jpg

    Prep: Occams crushed lime
    Razor: Gillette Black Beauty (4)
    Blade: GSB
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetc
Soap: Gustafsons Stubble Management ( anise & peppermint)
    Post: MLSW Kraken Aftershave milk

Had a marvelous shave this afternoon. Got a top notch lather from the Gustafsons soap (Square One Soapworks) not suse why there is not more talk about this soap, it delivers in spades, lather quality is a bit similar to I Coloniali, no santa beard with this stuff, but a dense lather that can hold a lot of water. The peppermint provided a sliget cooling effect, and even though I usually do nit care for Anise, in blends well to create a nice soothing fragrance from just 2 essential oils. Very happy with the performance of these soaps expecially since they were on sale for around
$4 for a 3 oz puck which is a steal IMo, but even at full price this stuff is worth a shot since it is unique and a hidden gem. Ended up getting one of the closest BBS shaves I have had in a long time. The A/S milk is a great product (and unfornuately discontinued) that got rid of any irritation or any sort of trouble. Happy as can be about the results of todays shave, and hope everyone had a similar or better shaving experience!

    Decadent December!!

    December 30

    Razor - Soviet Consul
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum, Nivea

Next to last day with the Consul and we are at 8 on the dial. Which is off the scale compared to the Slim. There was a slight but disturbing change in the feel today. When I have a Voskhod in a razor I can usually count on a smooth shave. There is a bit of harshness starting to show up and controlling it on the cap is critical. I truly believe that if I had tried this razor a year ago I would have stopped before now. SWMBO was watching me shave and as I finished the second pass she made an immediate comment about the redness of my neck especially. And I could feel it. I was at near-BBS but called it quits, and the alum was hot. No blood, no weepers, nothing like that but the irritation level is getting close to the point where I would stop. But, there's one more setting left. It's all the way open on 9 tomorrow for the final shave of 2016. If my technique holds up it should still be blood free, but it won't be irritation free. By a long shot. And the best way I can describe how the alum will feel is............

A magnificent shave with the PAL Injecto-Matic razor this morning. Today was my thirteenth shave on this Dutch Danglies blade and still feeling smooth. Wonderful lather from the Van Yulay Jared shave soap. Slick, creamy, bountiful lather. Three passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day my friends. :)

IMG_0845.JPG Shave with my second try at honing.

    Progression:
    Naniwa chosira 1 k
    Naniwa Super stone 3k
    Naniwa speciality stone 5k
    Naniwa super stone 10k

    Used for the shave:
    SWK xl scuttle
    Semogue LE 2 band
    Lark
    Dr Harris a Windsor
    Pinaud clubman
    Prep asb

Shave was somewhat beter then the first one, still far away for the kind of sharpness I like.

Will try if the Welsh slate will bring some sharpness. Otherwise I will go back to restart from the beginning, because of the stabilizer at the heel I find it still difficult to get it sharp there.
