SOTD: Happy 2017! This morning's early shave is the second of three consecutive using a vintage Dubl Duck 5/8" (each of the three razors was honed using a different finisher). This Dubl Duck 'Satinedge' was finished using a comibination of naturals (Belgian coticule/apache strata). Same soap & brush as the previous day (Soap Commander 'Influence' lather applied with Shave Works badger, matching SC balm). Result? A smooth, nearly blood-free episode (small chin nick due to 'operator error' ) Perhaps a touch less keen on the toe compared to yesterday's JNat-finished razor, but still no slouch. A very good shave.

Happy camper, feeling ready for the New Year. Wishing all as well, God Bless and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Bill
By "vintage" you mean the one with the classic French Horn doing the jingle on the TV ad? Today, we get "Smellmitment".
Great choices! Now that Stirlingsoaps has this Nag Champa, I may want to give it a try. Say, is that dog wearing a bowtie?
Yeah Paul, he sure is. Most female dogs are in season in the spring, and he wanted to impress this one certain young lady on St, Valentine`s Day, ergo the bow tie. By the way, Success!! Bill
Gillette Tech Weber Bulldog Rapira Platinum Lux (3) Semogue BC Cerda Soap Commander Love Alum Superior 70 A nice shave removing a few days worth of growth. It is nice being able to take my time and enjoy a shave.
SOTD January 1, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick M adjustable injector Brush: Jayaruh #60 synthetic Lather: Route 66 Cavendish Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Ozark Mountain Trail aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up HAPPY NEW YEAR! Nice shave with the Schick adjustable. I started on 5 and then cranked up to 6 for the touch-ups. Smooth razor. I'm starting a month of Route 66 usage. We have a thread in the Shave Soap section. Amazing lather - well-hydrated, easy to generate, bountiful, slick, conditioning, etc. It's everything that you would look for in a top-notch lather. This will be a fun month! Have a great New Year's Day!

Not even a professional barber could have given me a better shave than this - it took 3 passes with my Super Speed/Astra combination to get me so BBS that even my wife was shocked when she kissed me. She said I was almost as smooth as her and our daughter. The Plissoft synthetic whipped the Glacial Wintergreen soap into magnificent, bone-chillingly cold lather and the matching balm and witch hazel added their own special soothing post-shave care along with a freeze which could leave the average guy almost disoriented and shivering. What a wonderful shave this was! Happy New Year, my dear friends!
