So glad to be doing decadent January. I did one last month and found out the best blade for me so far. Let me tell you I have used proraso cream before with derby blades and it just did not work out. Was getting ingrown hair, razor burn. So since I found the right blade and razor combo this month I have decided to give proraso a go again. 1) merkur 34c razor 2) Proraso sandalwood shaving cream 3) astra superior platinum blades 4) badger hair brush El cheapo 5) alum 6) lather & wood aftershave balm I had a fantastic shave this afternoon. I am loving it so much!!! Proraso is a very good cream in my opinion and shoot for 10 bucks in the USA it is a very sweet deal. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
Head shaving is an art form of its own and I remember when I decided to switch from disposable razors to a DE. I got the Merkur 23c specifically for the longer handle and have always used it along with Astra SP blades. The learning curve produced blood but now it's automatic. Rarely do I have a problem. I even used a pain stick a couple of days after being dared by @Mr. Freeze93 and pulled it off without a hitch. That's probably as bold as I'll get!
Janu-Shavette-ary Route 66 BSH & JR #130 Weck Sexto, Personal blade Fatip/Muhle, Ladas SS blade Alum, Clubman S. R. AS First shave of the new year! Great lather, juiced it up for the long knife. Blunted heel & toe to keep the corners above my dermis but still managed to set down pokey edge on lower right neck. Gotta love blood on steel to renew attention. Working in more areas and directions of passes has it's price. Clean up with October's focus brought me to DFS with cool Alum. Splash of Ed Pinaud and I'm headed outside. Active weather and a lightning strike knocked out interwebs. Gonna see if it was my grandfather's Pecan that took the hit. Good Shaves y'all! Tapatalk Via Kyocera
I still remember being heart broken at seeing that you pulled it off perfectly. By the way Happy New year to all. I wasn't on to say it on New Years but I have a good reason. Even though I can still party like a rockstar I can no longer recover like one.. I am sure the Cartel is disgusted with me and I am awaiting my termination any day now.
Thank you. I feel like I would be solidly on track if I didn't look like I I got slapped by Freddy Krueger. It is not helping that I am trying to clean up around them, which is not allowing for any kind of normal stroke. I don't know why I felt it so important to use both hands equally. I know that some do, some don't. I guess for now I will just do what is comfortable. Even though the weight is virtually the same, there is something about the Kai that feels really solid. I like the jimping, but the Feather has the rubberized handle all the way up, and is super comfortable, so functionally it is just a preference thing I suppose.
Right now both of my shavettes use proprietary type blades - Weck Sextoblade and Feather SS. I am looking to buy a shavette that uses DE blades so that I can work through some of the blades I have during focus month. My question is: they seem to use half of a DE blade. I need some schooling on how you safely break one in half. @Bama Samurai, I know you use one... Suggestions? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Another very nice shave Route 66 Perfect Storm B-400 Brush by Tom SRD Bridle Strop Giesen and Forsthoff Adoration Lucky Tiger Florida Water AS Have a great week!
You might have been heart broken....I was relieved and surprised. As for your membership in the Cartel two things. 1. Do you really think you can get away that easily? And, 2. It's not like we haven't had our issues with partying and recovery before.
Proraso is definitely an under-appreciated product at times. Just one of those old standards that does nothing but what it is supposed to. And for a great price.
