NB '17

Interesting read here. I like a couple of you have lost the need to seek out the next newest and greatest wet shaving goodie.
I have a couple of goodies I'd like to add to my den, do I need them? No.

Having failed miserably at these, I would say the one hundred twenty third day is.

 

I'm too much of a mixer-upper to go "NB" for a whole year.

 

Well, that happens to be the case!

 

So far, so good. Another look at my stuff and I know that I have plenty so it's just a matter of being strong willed enough. Only 363 days to go.

Me too. I never even thought about it, but I will need more plain unscented witch hazel before the year is up. To me, that isn't even a shaving purchase, it is just a household toiletry, like soap or toothpaste.

 

I seriously thought about it, as I have way to much stuff (several boxes still unpacked after moving last summer) but won an Ebay auction for a pack of NOS blades yesterday putting me out of the race already. I need to consider NC17 ("no collecting") as it seems to be my weekness....well that and high priced soap..

For my NB16, replenishment was OK, acquisitions are what I avoided.

TSD forum store didn't count either.

Thanks guys but won't be joining in on NB17. I enjoy collecting and restoring vintage shaving brushes too much.

 

Just what I needed, a loophole.

 

I will be the first to admit, there are one or two razors out there I am definitely willing to break NB17 for, but I am not going actively looking at them. If I happen to stumble across them, then I will have to try for NB18.

 

That's how I feel, I have one brush and maybe a razor in mind. I've stopped looking at eBay and such.

 

So far, so good! Just 363 more days to go!
