    Today was a good mailbox day. Three packages. Please note that everything listed was purchased before NB 17- Software Edition started. I needed a new alum block, so naturally, my Maggards order included alum, chromium oxide paste, and three flavors of Fine aftershave. My injector from the Monte Hall donation PIF included two cases and a small sample of balm. I also ordered a soap from a local maker, since his website went live on the 31st. I think I was the fifth order from Wheat State soaps. Barbershop scent, and he threw in a sample of Vanilla Sandlewood.

    Surprise in the mail today. I was going to do a major bulk order of several blades as soon as I finished with my testing phase of a sample pack. The wife beat me to it. She went ahead and ordered 100 Voskhod blades for me since she knew I liked them. A beautiful sight. However - I will still be ordering other blades in bulk as well. Man can't live on one blade alone.

    That was the second time in 3 years Troy Brouwer played in the Outdoor Bowl. He got the game winner for the Caps 3 years ago.

    If you like Vanilla and Sandalwood, you will like this scent. Unfortunately, those are two scents I don't like. This sample will find a new home when I start thinning out the den. I haven't tried my tub of the soap yet, so I can't speak for the performance.

    Wet Shaving Products has a sandalwood that is a bit more "masculine". Maybe A LITTLE Vanilla in it, but Lee wants to avoid the "floral" scent. I have it, and like it.

    Pretty much any soap or aftershave with sandalwood, vanilla, or Tonka bean is out for me. The scents are just something I don't like.

    funny you mention Tonka bean-I was just looking at some of the Rte 66 soaps-one has just that. What is it like?

    Tonka bean has sweet dark amber and vanillaesk notes. It provides the base scent for the soap I used today, Smolder by The Blades Grim. Which smells like roasting marshmallows over a camp fire.
