I ordered the iKon SC101 head. I shouldn't have gotten rid of the first one. Edit: it's already shipped. Wow.
Took the plunge and ordered my first vintage DE razors...guy was selling two Superspeeds (one 40s, one flair tip) and a ball-end Tech...down the rabbit hole I go...
Yup, I see that already! Started DE shaving a few months ago...then found a great condition Injector and PAL injectomatic at a 2nd hand store...now the Vintage(s)...I have to stop reading these forums, or I'll end up with an adjustable, and Aristocrat, and a Single Ring, and a Cooper...
Just put in an order at Maggards. - Maggard Orange Menthol shaving soap - Maggard MR14 handle - Fine American Blend shaving soap - Soap Commander Fortitude The crazy part is, I have to wait a bit. I got it sent to my cousin who lives near Seattle, who has his brother staying on vacation (my other cousin), who lives in South Africa. He'll bring the package with him back to South Africa this weekend. I live in Denmark and my Mother is visiting her Sister (my cousins Mother) in South Africa next week and then when she returns home to Denmark (3 weeks later), she'll bring the package with her Why? Danish customs are not right in their minds when it comes to postal goods outside EU.
My mailbox is expecting already. PAA Bakelite Slant. I am also expecting some samples from Jeeves of Hudson St. It has been a long time since I have gotten a new soap, so I wanted to get some samples so I could make a good decision
Another large & lovely old 7/8" Sheffield razor from William Greaves & Sons; Sheaf Works (circa 1840-50); "Cornucopia" blade etching
It will be worth the wait. I just received a puck of Fine American Blend soap. Its a great soap. Lathers very easily and provides a very slick shave. Has that more traditional barber shop scent, which I like. Now that I have tried the soap - I'll probably order the American Blend after shave.
It's going to take a while, but The Underground Shave Railroad will prevail! Delayed gratification is good for building patience and anticipation.
I read that the formula on Fine is very very close to Tabac, so I'm really looking forward to trying it. I spend hours trying to decide which Soap Commander I wanted..lol Sometime start/mid February
I know, this is crazy - I spend an enormous amount of time on these purchases. I've been testing about 30 different blades over the past several months. I have a list, sitting here next to the computer, of the ones I want to buy in bulk. Everyday I change the list. I don't know how many hours I have spent on this.
A few AS samples from Maggard's: Paid for with a Christmas gift visa gift card, so as to not violate NB17!
