I wasn't so brave this time last year. Popsicle stick shavette WILL happen this year! In my shave den I'm If others are involved I use proper procedures.
I wish I'd kept mine. All I have is one of those silly round thingies. Basically a useless brass disc with some numbers on it.
I found this at Razor Emporium... "For Adjustable razors, all measurements are taken at setting number 1. Because of the design of the slotted adjustment dial, once the setting is made at 1, all other settings move up automatically / incrementally from there." "Move up automatically / incrementally" by how much? Edit: I see they list the blade gap of a Slim, on "1", @ .381mm. Another chart I found gave it @ .56mm ("Gillette Adjustable", so I'm taking the chance in assuming it's a Slim). That's quite a difference.
Razor: Gillette Aristocrat 1947 (Birth year razor) Blade: Feather Platinum (5) Brush: Fendrihen Silvertip Black Faux Ebony Handle Soap: Route 66 Lavender Wood Aftershave: Folsom Capri The Route 66 Lavender Woods is a deep woods cedar, crushed Pine tips and hints of unmistakable wild English Lavender energized to create a soothing, woodsy, masculine scent. Excellent soap. Tonight's shave was without any problems at all. Did 4 passes ATG in both direction for a very near BBS. Folsom Capri is a top 5 aftershaves in my books. Canada and the U.S.A. play tonight for the World Junior Championship. This is probable the best hockey you will ever see. Good luck to both teams.
Night 5: Leaving the toggle on "3"feels better each time. What few red dots I get are probably from the previous night's escapades. I'm only doing two shave per blade to ensure their cutting ability. I still have some spots that aren't quite as smooth as they could be, but I'd rather get the technique down rather than scrape any more meat off my throat. Just beneath the jawbone is another area I'm having a bit of difficulty with, but it's getting less with each endeavor.
Day 3 with the RV- Shavemac D01 Today I went with Crown and Crane which is a croap. I went Teutonic with the razor, Rasurpur Western grind Kamisori. This not the brush for this soap, I got good lather but I had to keep reloading the brush. It worked but was annoying,. The edge was great very sharp and comfortable. 4 passes and a small nick from the tip and one tiny weeper. Irritation A Closeness A Smoothness A Sharpness A+

This shave: Canned Veg The razor: Magic shavette The blade: Astra SP The brush: took the night off The soap: Barbasol Extra Moisturizing in a CAN The follow-up: Dickinson's Witch Hazel and The Veg Went a little old school. Dropped $2 on the counter for some Barbasol and got change back. It felt weird not holding a brush, and I missed the prep routine, but I have to admit it was kind of fun getting the hands messy and finger painting it on. It wasn't too awfully slick, but the cushion was good and I cannot argue with the results. The Magic continued to impress me. I probably didn't need the witch hazel but used it out of habit. The Barbasol left a nice face feel, which was complimented nicely by The Veg. The ol' face was smooth and supple as I slept alone. On the couch. With the Veg. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
