I know the second trooper from left. True story. He's a former coworker who does the convention circuit.
You could always add Kiss my Face shaving cream to it if the lather gets too airy. Most shaving creams would work, actually.
January 10 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush MWF Gem Damaskeene Ogallala Bay Rum with Lime and Peppercorns It was an interesting shave this morning. I had high expectations for MWF on the post shave front. I got a great lather that was as slick as anything, and the razor was easy going this morning. After the shave, I felt a little tightness, which I did not expect. My skin feels very soft, though, not like it does when I get a little dry. When I used Arko the other day, I noticed a visual dryness. I don't expect this to happen but I will pay attention. Based on this shave, though, I would say that Stirling, Route 66, and Stubble Trubble all perform better on post shave feel, although my skin is very soft.
January 10, 2017 Timeless OC .95 Gap with Windrose SS Feather (1) Rudy Vey R7 with Shavemac Finest Route 66 Twisted Tweed Witch Hazel Floid Amber Sample With this setup, automatic 2 pass near BBS shaves have become the norm and this morning was no exception. I finished the shave with a splash of Floid Amber. I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday.
January 10, 2017 Blackland Blackbird OC Feather (1) Route 66 Lumberjack Omega 10066 Ogallala Limes & Peppercorns Nothing new to report here. The BB and Feather continue to do an outstanding job in mowing down the stubble. I'm about to exit Route 66 as the tub of Lumberjack is nearly done and will provide over 60 shaves over the course of the past year. Seems like a pretty good value to me.
SOTD January 10, 2017 Blade: Kai Captain Mild Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk Brush: Jayaruh #60 synthetic Lather: Route 66 Cavendish Post: Witch hazel splash, Fine Platinum, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave again today. This is the same setup as yesterday with the exception of a different brush. This sample of Cavendish is pretty much done. I'll switch to a different scent for tomorrow's shave. Good result with this combination. The Black Hawk is really growing on me. Have a great day!
Day 3 of my NEW blade Focus It's been about six weeks since I used this razor. This morning due to a brain fart by me I got a nice nick on my chin. Didn't need the styptic, but it was a wake up call. Was much more careful for the rest of the shave. Feather is reacting a lot different in this razor. Not really thrilled with how it's going so far. Passable shave finished with a cold towel and Aramis AS. See you around campus Gents & Ladies.

Funny that you should mention the idea of a different bathroom... I actually do shower in a different bathroom (shared one at the front of the house; the shower in the master bath needs to be replaced). Ironically, when I started with traditional wet shaving, I was shaving in that bathroom but DW put the kibosh on that when she noticed I hadn't been keeping the sink clean of soap scum.
January 10, 2016 Razor: F2 Gillette 195 Adjustable (3) Blade: Astra SP (2) Cream: Gillette Venus with Olay, Vanilla Cashmere Day two with this combo and I'm definitely still trying to get a feel for the cream. On thing I noticed is that it really wants warm water. I had been shaving with cold water but that just seems to keep it in a very sticky state. My overall impression is decent slickness but no so much cushion. The shave itself was a very close DFS, but with one weeper and some complaint from the Alum. Since this is a pretty mild setup, though, it intimidates me as to what would happen with a more aggressive setup. This whole experience has had me wondering what the performance criteria are for a women's vs. a men's shaving cream.
I would guess many women shave in the shower or bath so it makes sense it would work better in warm water. You might work with the cream in a bowl with a brush before using. This might tamp down some of the propellant fluffiness and allow you to add in some more water if you desire. Just a thought.
