Took a day off from the shavettes. I really love the open blade razors, because it is kind of a challenge, but it is also kind of nice to shave without having to concentrate so fully. I see a couple of these, the Irving Barber and the Kai, getting used regularly, but I also miss using a few of these others. When I get my 30 in, I am going to go to an every other day thing.

Packed a Dopp for an away shave. Only eleven miles to the parents home. Face lathered for not packing my bowl. Tabac and the synthetic Maggards knot did acceptable duty. Smooth function from the vintage Gillette and a new Russian blade. Easy three passes, rinse, Alum, shot of S. R. & we're off to Asian buffet for supper!

Try mashing the brush down and loading the center of the knot. I get awesome lather out of my Omeaga that way.

Would they be in brown gravy over rice? Stewed with potatoes, carrots & onions? Chicken fried?

 

I still build it on my face from the bowl, but there is always enough later, and it is more consistent.

 

I prefer varnish or gasoline. Less toxic for me and those around me.

 

We used to shoot and eat the big grey squirrels. The hindquarters, dredged in flour and fried in a mix of oil and bacon grease. They are darn good that way.

 

I was getting the "I'm hungry! Let's go eat." from dad. Hurried the pile of gear for a quick snap photo. Forgot to include the Old Spice Bear Glove body wash and gold canvas Dopp bag with the shiny brass zipper.
