A Journey Down Route 66 16 January 2017 Bourbon Jungle today. Wish I were better at describing scents, but I like it. A lot. Same great performance. Can't decide between Lumberjack and Bourbon Jungle as a fave now. So, anyhow... Two pass DFS bliss in full effect. Alum was good, and Dynamic Pulse for a change up. Had the pleasure of a full morning of shoveling heavy wet snow. So calm and peaceful. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a terrific Tuesday! ☺
Nothing wrong with that at all. I'm no great guitarist either. I just really enjoy it. I started on bass. I don't get to play much anymore, but still prefer it when I do. Music with friends is one of life's great joys. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
My Bourbon Jungle arrives tomorrow. I agree that it is a fantastic scent. I am pretty excited. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I feel like a HS kid when jamming. That's why I do it. It's fun. I played garage band rhythm guitar back then, and resumed playing last year. It's been a blast so far.
That's what it's all about. If I weren't having fun I wouldn't do it. It keeps me young. And it has introduced me to some great musicians and people. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I love the sound of all arch top hollow body stuff, but like the twang of the Filtertron pickups Gretsch uses. The Washburn you have is quite similar in design and is also a rockabilly weapon of mass distraction. My close friend is both a teaching and working jazz piano pro with university music degrees. He's really been a help and blessing, and basically made me try again. He's helped me cut to the chase and set realistic expectations at the same time. He's also helped me not buy crap I don't need.
The Magic is on the "best bang-for-buck" list to be sure. Harvest broom section... Killing me. It is funny how our expectations can color the usage of a given product, and you had good take on it.
I actually want to put Filtertrons in my Washburn eventually. I bought it from a friend who had it hanging on his wall untouched as a decoration for the better part of two decades. It plays like a dream. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Filtertron, MXR Carbon Copy Analog delay, ever so slight fuzz if you're into it... And you can have a rockabilly freak out too! My friend:
There's a lot of truth in the "expectations" element. I had low expectations for the Magic. Sold at Sally's. How "common". Under $10. How good can it be? And a name like Magic sounds like they are either over-promising or about to pull some slight of hand on me. On the other hand, I had word of mouth from folks here whose opinion I respected. Both colored my expectations, but the thing about this group is that experience trumps expectation, and that is OK. Except as it concerns Russian blades (I'm learning, eh?). Nice feel. Carbon Copy is a very solid delay. I already have a Fulltone '69 Fuzz on tap. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
