January 17 Gillette Black Beauty on 3 PAL Gold Thin Hollow Ground carbon (14) eBay artisan badger brush The Eternal Tub of TOBS Avocado Cream ( croap ) Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original I used a bigger lathering bowl today to give the brush more room to spread out and added three times as much water. That seemed to do the trick -- lots of creamy thick lather to use, which the brush painted on my face without difficulty. It's still a floppy brush, but I can now make it work for me if I want to... The carbon blade was sharp and very smooth again today with no further recourse to the bladesaver. I couldn't tell from the directions if one is supposed to use the gizmo before every shave to maintain the edge or only when the blade shows signs of falling off. I think a touch up only as needed is more logical, so that's how I'm going to use it for now. The shave was clean and uneventful with quiet alum at the end. I finished with the Thayers anyway simply because that's my normal routine (and I have no Veg to be more heroic...)
Hey man, glad to see you connecting with your creative side....Please don't judge yourself though....It's really not a competition...Thats not fair to yourself or the music... Van Gogh was an amateur and just watch the Grammies to see what kind of cr@9 is passing for professional these days...lol! Nah....it's all about reaching for something more....something divine or creative...and as long as you try to play what you believe in, and honestly try....Thats IT! And Bass is the foundation that everything else is built on musically....Welcome, and I hope your experience enriches your life. Be positive, and the act of honestly and positively reaching for something beautiful will enrich the World... And I only say this to you, because I know, you....And I know you are honestly doing just that.....
January 17, 2017 Timeless OC .95 Gap Feather Zenith B02 Boar Route 66 Rum Runner Captain’s Choice Bay Rum I was still half asleep for the early morning shave this morning. Day's such as this really make me appreciate how well this hardware and software work for me allowing an effortless and automatic near BBS. I finished the shave with a splash of Captain's Choice Bay Rum. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
I get the sense that ye ol' Samurai is being a tad modest and can probably hold his own. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
SOTD January 17, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: PAL Adjustable Brush: Vie Long horse and synthetic blend Lather: Route 66 Barbershop Hop Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Stirling Mountain Man, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up The PAL Adjustable takes some getting used to. It's quite different than my Schick injectors. But the shaves are improving with concerted effort on pressure and angle. I like this razor and look forward to continuing improvement with it. Great lather from Route 66. My favorite so far has been Cavendish. But all the scents are nice and you can't go wrong with any of them. Have a great day!
So, another morning, another NEW/7 o'clock Green Focus shave. Today was a Bay Rum day. Stone Cottage Soapworks Bay Lime Shave Cream, finished off with Clubman VIBR. I don't stalk the elusive BBS shave, but today all the stars aligned and viola, I had it. Two passes and a lower neck touch up. Another upcheck for the Green. Feather Blacks are getting smaller in the rear view mirror. Have a great day, Ladies and Gents.
January 17 SOTD: Razorock Plissoft Brush La Toja Shave Stick Gillette SS Supply Provision Co. Post Shave Tonic It's been two pretty good shaves this week. Today I went with some La Toja, which is one of my favorite shave sticks. As usual, the lather was great with a clean scent. I got a near BBS from the superspeed, which I am coming to realize is a very underrated or overlooked razor. It may not be flashy, but it gives a quality shave. At some point, I will have to try to find a red tip, just to see how it compares (in the name of science, of course). The La Toja left me feel soft and smooth. Much better than Arko, not quite as nice as the best, but a very solid performance. I am on the fence with the Supply Provision Co. Post Shave Tonic, as I am not sure how much I like the scent. As an AS, it does well, but I may need to get my wife to weigh in on the scent. I have had it for a long while and don't reach for it often, but I will make a point to use it on a weekend soon just to get her opinion. I hope everyone has a great day!
Clint, if you're an animal enthusiast, you might want to go see the new Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Atlanta. I haven't. but I was at the main one, in southern Utah.
Okay, so how 'bout this "Canoe is more subtle than Clubman". Glad to provide some levity to your day.
