Actually nine of us took part in that one. Cinco de Julio! The Fifth of July. No blood or major injury among the group. Definitely not recommended for those with no straight razor experience but it was amazingly a pretty decent shave.
I'm training my technique with shavettes as preparation. I will be in on the fun (?) this time. Might even post my popsicle sticks in the Shave or Shower of the Day thread. If anyone else is interested in something out of the ordinary, There's a prototype razor available to test!

The one that got away! I ordered, received, and liked 5 of 6 samples of that makers tallow soap. Before I got done using them, they had shut down. Just scraped the last of London Fog (?) out of the little tub tonight. I needed an empty to prepare a sample for mailing. Thanks for the memories!
I just might do this. I've been intrigued since I first heard about it. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I'm in! My interest in shavettes predates last years festivities. My current technique training Focus is preparing for this year.
You need two Popsicle sticks, make a super glue blade sandwich, end up with a two-sided kamisori thing. It'll be ok. Or it won't, but a good choice either way!
Ah, what the heck. I haven't been practicing shavettes for nothing. When is D-Day? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
