  2. So I understand from yesterday's postings

  4. Being built to receive 37mm 1/2DE, 38mm injector, 50mm Feather type (?) and the even longer 57mm hair shaper blades? They have my shavettes shopping attention. Does that round knob on the side of the blade holder get in the way while shaving?
  5. It is an awesome razor.

  6. If you do, may I suggest a Luxor pro notched shavette. It has guards at the end of the blade, so the blade is flush, much like a cartridge razor. IMHO , it is a great shavette to start out with. One can haphazardly swipe around , without the edges nicking. It is inexpensive, well built for where it is made, and takes many blades. As you gain your technique, you can also set blade for more exposure. Atlanta barber, and Lee's razors carries them. Just make sure it's notched. They make a un-notched version as well. KIMG0031.jpg

  8. From the photo it looks like the blade is shorter that the parts that hold it. Nice design. Having stuck myself with both a square point straight and a shavette I appreciate the safety feature.
Last two times I loaded a fresh blade in my Weck I used a simple trick I learned from Jared @PickledNorthern . Using a sharpening stone it's simple to mute the heel & toe of the blade. A couple gentle swipes on the blade corner keeps me from poking myself.
  9. In all fairness, I read about it here. Not sure whose idea tho. It does help, to be sure.

The PickledNorthern Shavette Training Wheels Method © . ;)
  11. It takes "mini hair shaper blades," which we know as Schick injector blades. It also takes half DE, and Feather Artist Club blades. It does NOT take the full size (Weck type) hair shaper blades.

The knob does not get in the way.
  12. That's what I hear.

  15. I like the way @SharptoothC set that post up. It is probably worthy of its own thread. (Another iteration of the "list your favorite razors" theme.)
  16. I'm in if it starts.
