That makes four of us on the Gatlinburg. Wasn't my favorite either, so I wasn't too dissapointed. On a side note, I used the Texas On Fire witch hazel before bed last night. My wife is definitely NOT a fan. I wouldn't wear it regularly, but I do think I'll keep it around. I think it would be fun to use for Men's ministry events and stuff.
I tried Texas on Fire once as an aftershave sample. I came upstairs and my wife asked me, "What's that one called, Keg Party Tire Fire?", and then asked what was on deck, Fuel Oil Furnace Repair? I pretty much had to agree with her.
My wife got me a sample AS of Texas on Fire. I opened it up, and very diplomatically said, "It's strong..." She smelled it and said it reminds her of a camp fire. First one she likes and I don't.
And I guess that is my problem with it. Campfire (or smoke in general) is a smell I come inside and wash off, not douse myself with after I am already clean.
Went ahead and made another Stirling order of shave soaps to test: Almond Creme Barbershop Gin and Tonic Dunshire Pharaohs Dreamsicle Mountain Man Piacenza Sandpiper and a little more Stirling Gentleman By this time I'll have enough samples to narrow down what moves on to a full puck!! Really excited to experience them all!!
My dad used to do that a lot when he took pictures of us-one, then "ok, another one just to be sure".
Yeah, I will get the ball rolling again in the spring when people start to get the serious menthol cravings again. Last fall was probably a bad time to gauge interest, I just had some people ask me about it.
@ezlovan I just had a thought pop into my head this morning as I was sorting through my latest batch of samples. Everyone's scent preferences are different, sometimes wildly. There's no way that both you and Mandy love, or probably even like, all of the scents that you guys produce. For some reason I had an image pop into my head of you guys making batches of aftershave with clothes pins on your noses. Are there a few scents that either of you dread making? There are a handful of samples that have actually made my wife gag after smelling them (Texas on Fire for one). Which scents do you (or Mandy) really dislike? Maybe even more interesting, are there any top sellers that either of you really don't like yourselves?
