Amazing stuff Jim! Thanks @Drygulch for setting our friend up so well. Welcome to the dark side Jim you couldn't have a better setup than that.
Just received a new scuttle today. My Crown King tried to bounce on the ceramic bathroom tile without success! I guess it missed the rubber stopper. Nevertheless, the new addition is a Creative Flame Pottery scuttle from Alabama. Man is it big! Looks great. I will break it in tomorrow morning, but will be easy on the break part. Steve
Looks great Steve, I wish the bowl on the crown king were a little bigger. Did they include something to keep the water in ? Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
It's a dual chamber design like the Crown King only the spout on the Creative Flame design does not have a plug. You fill the base with hot water. It holds a little less water and the walls are definitely thicker. This is good in that the scuttle will probably hold the heat longer and the warm water is exposed to more surface area because the bowl is bigger, but it will probably take longer to heat up. I did a quick test and it does get warm. This scuttle is much wider and the inner bowl is definitely larger. On the negative side, it is kind of heavy and if you want to hold it up and lather in it, the mouth into the outer chamber is fairly large and water could spill out. I think I will be keeping it mostly on a counter if it is filled with water to avoid spillage. I really liked how the Crown King had a pug, but the hole was relatively small and the water took some time emptying out of the chamber. The craftsmanship is very nice on this new scuttle and you definitely get what you see on this artisan's site. Steve
Received these pretty neat mini pliers in the mail. Comes w/ a black pouch for carry, has some files and screw drivers ends in the handles as well that you can fold out. It's not Leatherman quality for sure but for simple tasks it appears to have enough force to do ok. The price for them is not too bad... $0.99 incl shipping.
Just use enough pressure to wipe the lather away, and use good skin stretching. Keep the spine two to three spine widths from the face. You can always do a clean up pass with a DE until you get the feel. You will do fine.
Another interesting doodad! With your ever expanding selection of interesting items do you rotate your EDC to give variety?
Yup. @Jayaruh pay attention, go slow, pay attention, watch what you're doin', pay attention, keep an eye on the angle, pay attention, careful of the pressure, pay attention... You'll do fine. We're all pullin' for ya!
No! Not at all!! I would never insist that anyone MUST shave the way I tell 'em! It's their shave. They gotta enjoy it their way.
