Also, sometimes when I am breaking in a new boar, every other day I will just lather it and let it sit for a while. My last one probably had a dozen lathers on it before it even hit my face.
I like the feel of it in the hand and it is solidly constructed. I just don't get why the blade grip has to be so wide at the point of exposure. Wide grip plus small blade exposure = steep angle. I feel like I am always riding just at the edge of disaster. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Exactly what I expect of the father of a southern samurai. Takes some pics of the BBQ too, I miss real barbecue .... and of course enjoy the weather and time with your father.
January 20 SOTD: Razorock Plissoft Brush Palmolive Classic Shave Stick Gillette SS Kramperts Finest Frostbite AS A quick shave before I had to head off to the airport. I used the same Ladas blade all week in this razor, and honestly, I can't tell a difference from day one to now. The Palmolive was fantastic again this morning, as was the Kramperts. Looking forward to being home with the family for a couple of days before I turn around and this again next week. I hope everyone has a great day!
Last shave of the NEW SC/7 o'clock Green Focus. Went with Proraso Green Shave Cream(tube) finished with a icy cold towel and Clubman AS. For the week I brought my Parker Silvertip brush out of hibernation. Might use it as my daily driver and save my Omega 6212 for special occasions and Sunday shaves. Voskhods are up next starting Sunday. I am thinking of giving my recently found Aramis shave soap a whirl. Oh yes, stand by for continued thread shennagins. This is the last day I'm on this post so you guys'll get a break next week. TGIF y'all.
SOTN January 19th PAL Injecto-Matic C Schick (2) Sir Hare Classic Barber Stirling 24mm Synthetic Crown King Scuttle Good morning friends! Another fantastic shave was had last night with the PAL IM. This razor is so smooth yet incredibly efficient. I really focused on no pressure tonight because I think I might have over shaved a little last time. The result was an amazing 3 pass BBS. Have a great day my friends!
Yes, I do find it a bit less drying than Arko, but still more so than some other soaps. For travel purposes, you couldn't go wrong with either, but they are also just great values and good to use all the time. I wouldn't eliminate either from my rotation based on a bit of drying, as it isn't too bad, a good PSB takes care of it, and they have such a great performance/$ ratio on everything else. The Erasmic on the other hand is gone permanently.
Andreas Segovia is flat out amazing. The first time I listened to his stuff, I thought there were three guitar players. Not my normal music, but it comes up on the iPod quite a bit.
I was surprised by how long lasting the shave was. Normally, a DE shave isn't as long lasting as a straight. The floating head gave a good enough shave that it was.
SOTD January 20, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick L1 injector Brush: Trader Joe's synthetic Lather: Route 66 Twisted Tweed Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Fine American Blend, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG, XTG (upper face) Nice shave this morning with Twisted Tweed. I am out of town and had more time than normal. Two full passes with an extra XTG pass for my upper face. Smooth, smooth is the word. I don't go for three passes like that very often. Fine American Blend and Nivea is a great way to finish it off. Have a great day!
@Bama Samurai - Enjoy your trip! I'll have to check out your BBQ joint sometime. Hole-in-the-wall-8-seat places are generally the best. You ever been to a Lawler's BBQ around Huntsville?
I love the Frostbite. It isn't maybe quite as cold as the name implies, but it has a good nip to it and is great on the skin. Safe travels, and enjoy the family.
