The Accountant. The last thing I am is a fan of Ben Affleck but playing the part of the accountant was a great match for him. Very good movie with a twist.
"Manchester by the Sea" starring Casey Affleck Saw it last night in an art house movie theater. Affleck portrays a man who is coming to terms with the tragic loses in his life and facing up to responsibilities. A serious film that has some touching and hard to watch scenes. Definitely not one of your typical Hollywood formulated movies. By the way, Casey does a wonderful job portraying a man who has difficulties dealing with his pain, angry and interacting with people.
Captain Fantastic, 2016 American comedy-drama film starring Viggo Mortensen. Story centers on a family who are forced by circumstances to reintegrate into society after living in isolation for a decade. I would of never picked up this DVD however someone at work who knows that I dislike formulated Hollywood suggested it. Glad I did.
Hacksaw Ridge. By far THE BEST war movie I've ever watched. 10/10 without question. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hidden figures. It was my wife's choice. It was very well written and acted out, but not my cup of tea.
Arrival. I gave it a 9/10, even though I'm pretty sure I won't watch it again. Entertaining... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dark shadows. It's from 2012, so not brand new by any means, but I did enjoy it. Lots of comedy in there as well.
OK, I was off today, so I watched another movie: Byzantium Wow! This is just a crazy cool movie. Seriously...go watch it. It's darn good. My wife said she wanted a vampire movie, so I looked up the "best ever," and this movie popped up on EVERY list. Well, they were right.
Let the Right One In is a very good vampire movie. Make sure you watch the original Swedish version though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Today I watched: Fire Sale (1977). Fairly funny Alan Arkin film though Rob Reiner was pretty annoying. The Hidden (1987). I watched this movie dozens of times on HBO during the late 80s and early 90s. I probably hadn't seen it in 20 years. It still holds up well. Good action flick. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We just watched "Sully". I have to give it a mixed review. They did a great job rendering the water landing & rescue. But they took a lot of liberties with the other parts of the story. (I read his book before seeing the movie.)
