The ADJUSTABLE SYNDROME! And other Mysteries of the Universe!

I have a Gillette Slim and a Fatboy. I find them to be almost identical, in terms of their blade settings, as you would probably expect. I shave with mine on setting #4 throughout three passes. I have recently discovered that the razor blade (brand and type) makes a huge difference, in terms of perceived aggressiveness and sharpness. I don't use mine all the time but I do enjoy the shave with them. I've made a couple of YouTube videos on these razors , if you fancy it. A search for Friendship Shaving should find me. Cheers

 

I'm a Gillette Adjustable nut. Skinny ones, fat ones, tall ones, silver ones, especially gold ones....if it has a turret, I want it. With the exception of the Micro Touch I have on display behind glass, Gillette Adjustables are all I own and use.

Yes, you need a vintage Gillette adjustable. As someone else said, you can get your $$$ back out of it should you not like it.

My opinion only. It's seriously skewed.

I know what you're saying, and I know that you have many razors, but I'd like to ask you one thing... sort of find an answer in all this, in your rotation of razors, do you use an adjustable more often than not?

I have 31 DEs. I use DEs Mon-Fri, different one every day. I'm very hard-core on the rotation; next one up is next one up, regardless of what razor it is.
Short answer to your question - no. They all get used equally.

Steve, a question about cleaning. How often do you clean your razors? And, what method? Hand clean, dishwasher, how do you clean the hem all?
