Received my vintage Simpson KH1 shaving brush in the mail from the UK today (pictured with a couple of his display case buddies :D) The previous owner had it reknotted with an very nice 2 band, so I'll probably use it in my regular rotation.

Today I received 2 different orders. One from Europe that took a few weeks - Tabac. Everyone says you have to try this classic and the scent is not for every one. Well I am not sure it is for me after smelling the puck, but I will try it tomorrow. I may have "whiffed" on this one!

The other shipment was from PAA. It included PAA Gondolier AS & Soap, Mason Boutique Octane Soap, Through the Fire Fougere Soap, and the PAA brush cleaning soap. I'm onboard with the Gondolier scent and especially the Octane (awesome scent), but I am really not sure about the Fougere. This really smelled terrible to me from just sniffing it from the tub. So bad in fact, I had to lather it just to see if it changed. I even applied a bit to my face and it may be irritating to my skin along with the horrid scent. I will need to try a shave with it, but this may be a super dud for me. My wife, daughter, and one of my sons did not think it smelled that bad (my younger boy agreed with me), but to me it smelled like paint or dried varnish! It did feel very slick though and the lather whipped up very easy for my brief experiment. Well I may be batting .500 today, but since all the others to date have been fine. I guess not every purchase is a home run!

Nice haul Steve! Mason Boutique is a good underrated soap maker, some nice scents as well. Tabac is not a scent for everyone but it may grow on you over time. I felt the same way when I first tried it, but now I find it to be a nice strong bold scent.

Thanks. I agree with you that you need to try things a few times and they may grow on you. We'll see. The Octane smelled a lot like PAA #9. I like that solvent type scent.

Harvested from Nature! Gotta research how to kill anthrax. From Majesty, Maxamux Prime, Chisholm, & Ashton - no mane, all tail horse hair. Thinking about making brush knots from scratch.

The razor is really in excellent shape. I got it off of the BST on another forum at what I thought was a very fair price.

Not that I needed another one. But its to hard to walk away from for $10. And I passed on about 30 others too. The schick trans shifter and tennis handle. As well as a star NOS lather catcher in box with blades and BB to name a few. Think this one will be the wifes.
