SOTD January 28, 2017 Blade: Kai Captain Mild Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk Brush: Semogue 1520 boar Lather: Route 66 Sweeney Todd Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Stirling Piacenza, Nivea sensitive balm WTG/XTG, touch-up I didn't dial in my lather today as well as the past few days. A little too much water in the bowl and on the brush. I whipped it out as much as I could and did just fine. Nice shave with Sweeney Todd and the Black Hawk. Route 66 has impressed and worked well for me all month. Have a great weekend!

Second shave of the day. Route 66 Twisted Tweed B-400 Brush by Tom Heart Columbia JWest Razor Lucky Tiger Vintage Old Spice Have fun!
Good choice of brush. Of my boar brushes I prefer the Pro 98 over any others I own. Great fan shaped knot with a classic barbers handle shape. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
Traveling this week so I choose to bring solid performance gear. B-400 brush fitted with a APShaveCo knot face lathered Barbershop Hop for a slick wonderfully scented lather. The Bunny & a NOTSO comb knocked down several days of beard on my cattle ranch work/vacation. A splash of Special Reserve for great outdoors Texas day. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
According to the thingie in my phone, my Route 66 should be here Monday. The brush'll be here Thursday. I'll be shaving with 'em Friday!

No shave Sunday for me today. I will finish off the Sweeney Todd sample over the next two days, and then, lo and behold, it'll be February! As my wife says, the days are long and the years are short. Time sure does fly by! I've really enjoyed this month and this thread. Hope you all have as well. Thanks for playing along!
Thank you everyone for the get well wishes, and oh my gosh for the pictures and posts! I haven't had time to read, like and comment as much as I want to, so again THANK YOU. I promise to start trying to get caught up this week!
It's been a fun month. Thanks for making a product worth doing this with. I'm thinking we all do this with Arko and Lilac Vegetal next month.
SOTD January 30, 2017 Blade: GEM stainless Razor: GEM Pushbutton Brush: Semogue 1520 boar Lather: Route 66 Sweeney Todd Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Stirling Piacenza, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up This boar brush just didn't whip up the same quality lather that I can get with a badger or synthetic. Sort of strange. It's not bad lather, of course, but more thin and runny. But, that may have actually contributed to more success for today's shave with the Pushbutton. Really a nice shave this morning. Smooth and comfortable. I'll finish out the month tomorrow with the last of the Sweeney Todd. That came out just right as far as amount of soap. Next month will be back to various soaps on a whim. But I still have a good bit of Route 66 in both samples and full tubs, so they will show up again. Have a great day!
