    @COMPNOR
    Face lathering is another option. Load the brush off the puck, or rub the puck directly on your face, and build the lather on your face. This method has always worked the best for me, particularly with soaps that are hard to lather (Mitchell's Wool Fat is my example). It's easy to add more product, if needed, and I think it helps prepare your face for the shave.

    I like warm lather, so I keep my brush in a brush scuttle. These were made by Robert Becker.

    Doug, I hope I speak for all of us when I say I like the way you compliment members' shaves.

    Nominees for Rule/Focus Officers:

    @NCoxSTL - Президент Российской Федерации
    @Bama Samurai - Sensei
    @Drygulch - Historian
    @wristwatchb - Treasurer (it's a good thing we have no money)
    @Douglas Carey - Esprit de corps
    @Paul Turner - Spokesman

    Deal?

    Any other officers we need (leaving door wide open and red carpet rolled out for shenanigans)?

    As Historian, what does @Drygulch do, keep reminding us that we should be proud in using Clubman since it's 207 years old(for instance)?

    Let's be realistic, Paul. @NCoxSTL would use his executive powers to invoke the nuclear option and declare The Veg as the group's aftershave of choice.

    Watch your step, mister! The Cartel is always watching.

    wouldn;t he have to get past the "Veg Haters Club"Veep to execute that?(forgot who it is, but I always call him Mr. Vice-President).

    replying to my own question-The Spokesman announces that, there is Clubman, and there is Veg. All right, in fairness, I never tried the Veg, but..let me say, why couldn't Napoleon have supplied his soldiers with Clubman ORIGINAL?????

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick I1 injector
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Strop Shoppe Limited Edition Baker Street
    Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Stirling Baker Street aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

    Nice shave this morning. A generous and anonymous TSD member sent me some soaps and this Baker Street limited edition was included. Then the new Stirling line of Baker Street came up and it seems as though the stars aligned. The soap performed okay. It's not the best soap in my den but certainly not the worst either. I think it was fairly dry from not being used in a while and that affected the lathering. In any event, once I got some moisture worked in I was able to get a good lather. The I1 worked great as usual. The Stirling aftershave feels so silky. I really enjoy the added menthol.

    I went without the Nivea balm today. It's shocking and groundbreaking! We'll see how it goes. I always use it but last night my face felt a little greasy so I decided to try it without for a day and see what happens.

    All in all a nice shave. I'm excited about this new Baker Street combination! Have a great day!

    RyX DoH!

    Stainless steel while being an amalgam, a mixture of metals, is solid through and through. The polished surface may have microscopic imperfections. Chromed finishes are electroplated - laid down on the surface one molecule at a time. That sure could give a smother finish.

    Uh Huh. I get that, too. Flibberdigibbet!

    Great video! That's why I bowl lather 98% of my shaves.
    Using Tabac doesn't hurt either.

    PSO- my own
    '54 SS w Astra SP (1)
    Stirling Baker Street (sample)
    TGN Nylon/Mahogany handle (my own)
    Thayers unscented

    Day 4 of the 40s SS focus. 1st day with the Astra. After not really enjoying the 40s/Voskhod combo the last few days, my faith in Gillette's postwar engineers (or perhaps my own technique...) has been restored. Great shave with the Astra. 3 passes for a DFS. Did not go ATG on my neck to avoid fireworks, so I can't say it was BBS. Either the Astra is just a better combo for my face and technique with this razor, or it is reaping the benefits of 3 days of practice with another blade. The Baker Street sample was a very nice scent and this was day 1 for this brush. It is so soft that I can barely feel it. Quite a weird feeling, actually. Will take some getting used to, as I have used Badgers almost exclusively for quite awhile. Both of my badgers (WD HM and TGN Finest) definitely have more feeling on the face.
    Enjoy your weekend all!

    Czar carries more "special" powers than any VP. Just have to sober up some of those "special people" to use them is all.

    Note to self - Official group aftershave is a good idea. Make sure to credit @wristwatchb when the option is exercised.
