Hello, Just thought I'd go old school today, used a fat boy, a brush, and a stick of Arko. What could be better than the sweet aroma of Arko shaving soap... uh, well, maybe not so sweet smelling but definitely an awesome shaving soap. For those who haven't used Arko, then you've got to try it. It's not going to rate up there with the best soaps, but it works great and it can be picked up for .95 per stick delivered to your door. I bought a 12 pack for just over eleven dollars from Amazon, and I think that's an awesome price. For those interested, here's a web site. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VAWZ2U/?tag=thshde-20
Arko definitely has its following. It gives a great shave, but to my nose, it smells like the pink, public restroom soap one had to grate into your hands. No thanks.
It does smell like a urinal puck... You should save it for those times when you have a cold and can't smell... lol. There are videos on how to change the smell with oils. Haven't tried it, but maybe some day.
Man you guys are tough on Arko. I don't mind it. The lather is thick though it dries quickly if you don't feed it enough water. To me it smells like a stronger version of plain Ivory white soap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dislike the smell of Arko as well. Have you ever wondered how wildly popular the soap would be if they put it out in pleasant scents? What is that company thinking?
Me too. I can't go for it. I like luxury shaves regardless of price. Give me mdc, barrister and mann, Stirling, etc.
I LOVE ARKO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't for get Mitchell's Wool Fat is also old school shaving soap and I LOVE MWF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely! Imagine Arko in a pleasant sandlewood. They wouldn't be able to make enough Arko to keep up with the demand.
Yeah, and Arko is cheap. I was telling a guy who was still using can goo, and kept complaining that other shave soaps are too expensive. He only feels that way because he's never tried them. Anyway, I told him about Arko. Don't know if he'll give it a try but it's gotta be better than the can goo.
