    February 7 SOTD:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars
    Merkur Futur
    Stirling Unscented PSB
Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars AS

I had the Futur set on 2.5 today, and I got a DFS that was just short of BBS using two passes. I could tell the aggressiveness a bit more than my first couple of shaves with this razor. I also used some Henri & Victoria soap for the first time, which I got using a gift card my grandparents sent. It seems to be a good soap on this initial use, and the scent is great. My wife liked it as I got a comment on my way out the door. Based on that alone, it isa keeper.

Tomorrow, I have another part of my gift card I will be pulling out for a first use. I am looking forward to it. I hope everyone has a great day!

Fatboy/Feather February continues in fine fashion. Today was shave #6 on a blade and its still going strong and very smooth. I keep the razor set on 6 which, I suppose, is defeating the purpose of an adjustable. Almost went ahead and shaved my head with it, but at the last moment, grabbed my Trac II handle and mowed down 3 days of stubble in a quick manner.

Congrats Neal. I'm glad the FB loaded with a Feather treated you so well. Who would've guessed that you'd be hoarding Feathers and I would be hoarding fine Russian St. Pete steel? What other surprises will 2017 bring? :shocked002:

    Fine Lavender

I am moving a bit slow this morning. I tried a two pass shave with touch ups and that is just asking a little to much for this razor. I really had to go back and work to end up with my normal near BBS. From now on I will stick with a 3 pass shave with this razor. I am happy to report that the scent of the soap is opening up more with each use. The lather is slick and protective. While I like the soap, I would say that MdC is the better lavender soap. YMMV. I finished off the shave with a splash of Fine Lavender. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM Featherweight
    Brush: Jayaruh #60 synthetic
    Lather: Fine Platinum
Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Fine Platinum aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice shave this morning. Feeling smooth and smelling good with Fine Platinum. I've continued a lathering method that @Bama Samurai discussed last month. I'll put some water on top of the soap and then begin loading with a dry brush. Only tried it with synthetics. I add tiny bits of water as needed while loading. This method has made some terrific and well-hydrated lathers.

    Have a great day!

That is the first time I have heard of Nacet. Good stuff? Appears to be cheaply acquired.

They knocked GSB down a step for me, and I would consider them tied for my favorite blade with Polsilver SI.

Plus, they chop an alligator in half. What could be better than that?

I may have some Nacet that I could send to you. A few more varieties, too. I'll send a PM.

I do like the Polsilvers. And alligator chopping. Sounds like it may be worth a try. Anytime a blade can pull double duty, I am in.

Good morning fellow Denizens! Today I broke out Simpsons Unscented Shaving Cream. My 10098 is really humming now. In no time flat I had a great lather. The 99r/Feather combo is working well. Two passes on weekday stubble. Some neck cleanup, hot/cold water rinse, icy cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali and a generous splash of Canoe. Out the door and another work day begins. Have a fantastic day everybody!

    Very cool.

I need to buy more. I was looking the other day, and my son took most of them back to school with him.

Hi guys....not much to report other than I did some "rotation readjusting" to allow myself for not much time to elapse between Clubman usage(with the Original. and Special Reserve).

Got a link? Or a search suggestion? For some reason I feel like a search for "cartel blades" may land me in parts of the deep Web I don't want to go to.

    Razor: Pre-War Fat-Handle Tech
    Blade: Astra SP (4)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

There really wasn't a lot to shave after yesterday's near-BBS so I decided to go with a Tech today. No apparent issues though I did get the lather a bit thin for the second pass. Nonetheless, I ended up with another near-BBS with a qualification. Apparently, I got a bit overzealous at the corner of my mouth. I didn't notice anything but, as I was leaving, DD pointed out that I looked like the Joker. Huh? It turns out I had given myself a small scratch at the corner of my mouth which extended the mouth line like the Joker's rictus. Sigh.

I love how the family does and doesn't notice my shaving mishaps. My wife will miss big things while my daughter will see the tiniest weeper.
