SNOWPOCALYPSE BLADE/FOCUS SHAVE
So this morning as I listened to the sleet banging off the skylight in my bathroom, I pulled Trumper GFT out of the vanity. Grabbed the Omega 10098 and whipped up a batch of lather. I really love this brush. The Parker 99r not so much. Using the Feather, I've nicked myself more this week than the last three months. Had no problems with my NEW or the SA-109. No technique glitches. I'm using no pressure, taking great care in maintaining my angle. I don't get it. The shave is okay, two passes with some cleanup. Anyway, patted on some Clubman and headed to work. If you live here in the Northeast take care. It's nasty out there!

 

I havent. I haven't tried any of the Stirlings actually.

You may be right. Imagine the amount of wood it would take back in the day. And in their winters!

Honestly? Five years.

I love everything about them. I lurk the threads, I love the focus it takes to shave with an open blade, I love scales EVERY bit as much as I love brush handles. I am a knife nut, and I love sharpening blades with a stone. My wife jokes that I am going to start breaking into houses to sharpen their knives. I would love to learn how to hone.

I have too many hobbies. Way too many. I am not adding another one til I have the time, space and money. Wet shaving the way I do it now is sort of half assed in terms of a hobby. No commitment, no space other than an entry way bathroom. I live in MN. I own a boat, a Harley and a set of clubs. I don't have nearly enough time to even touch those three things when the snow is gone.

When my kids are moved out and done with school (five years), and my extra cash actually belongs to me.... when I can stop traveling for work because my kids are moved out and done with school...

It's a daydream, my friend......

I've never been all that interested in exploring soaps. Found what worked and pretty much stuck with it. I keep considering adding one or two but so far that AD hasn't gotten its hooks into me.

There are so many awesome soap makers I want to try them all. * enabler mode on* But the things I like about Stirling are awesome performance, huge tub of soap for the price, and a massive array of scents to choose from. BTW the samples are HUGE! *enabler mode off*

Well, you can see there isn't any stubble in the picture. Have to stretch the force wrinkles out carefully though. Alum on the fingertips, and the dark side in my mind makes it easy.
