That is a well reasoned plan that makes complete sense. I will follow along to see how it works out. I have the feeling your collection at that point is going to go from 0 to 60 in the space of a few months. Hones are a whole new rabbit hole. I have more money invested in hones than I do in my safety razors, soaps, and aftershaves combined. And we won't talk about what is invested in the 70ish razors I have. Keep lurking. When you are ready, the dark side will still be here.

Hi guys-got out the trusty Rise A.S. Cooling Balm, which I hope someone wins in the raffle. It's a great moisturizer for a days like today-snowy, windy, dry. I un fortunately put on too much(that's the one problem-as a gel it's easy to do that). Too little is better, I think.

This isn't my first rodeo. I ain't startin this one til I can do it right.

I have learned several times in the past, that a hobby done wrong is more stressful than relaxing.

We just got him to try Route 66. We might have to go easy on the other soaps for a few months. Unless you find a Russian one.

Maybe we can get Rod to print a label in Russian ? :happy102:

Which is why so far, I am avoiding them like the plague. Not from a lack of interest. Plus, if I have been shaving with AC razors for years, just think how smooth the learning curve should be.

I certainly agree with you on the tub size. It'll take quite a while for me to finish my "5.8".

I'm enjoying a Russian one now. It'll probably be the first of my soaps to go(the others packed close to the top).

I have had several other expensive hobbies as well. Aquariums and fish keeping. (Had 34 tanks and 4 ponds going, with over 3000 gallons before I got married.) Down to one 29 gallon tank. Motorcycles, have had several cruisers, all customized. Sold my last one after my heart surgery before the oldest was born. Will get another one when they are a little older. Leatherworking. Haven't gotten rid of any of my stuff, but have very little time to work on things anymore. Use the income from it to pay for my shave hobby. Also into knife collecting, and waiting for the right old truck to fall in my lap to start that mess. I understand about trying to keep hobbies under control.

Now I don't feel so bad about shaving, fly tying, and diy electronics.

Amazing photo filter. Do you give lessons, share secrets, or take apprentices?

And his shave cup is huge, too!

    Razor: F2 Gillette 195 (4)
    Blade: German Wilkie (2)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

No shave yesterday as I was running late. Nice and careful today for a near-BBS with just a touch of irritation on my neck. Fatboy FTW!

I'm thinking you mean "For The Win" and not the other popular FTW acronym. :)

Thank you, Rick. I am fairly bad at photo editing, so I have been using and app called Photo Pro. It does all the work, I just pick the effect or filter I want. :)

Hey guys, I finally got the Crowne&Crane Tobacco Leaf&Amber soap sampler open!!!!! I'll have to use the Burma Shave brush for it, as that is my smallest brush. Look below to see how I feel after finally negotiating this baby.

    PSO -my own
    '54 SS w Polsilver (1)
    Stirling Baker Street Sample
    WD High Mountain 24mm
    Thayer's Unscented
    Nivea Sensitive Balm

Day 8 of the 40s SS focus.

Sorry, no picture this morning. It has been a rough one, as we continue to experience ridiculous, record-breaking snowfalls. Set the alarm 45 minutes before the usual really early wake up call to shovel another 8 inches off the vehicle and driveway. We have had 3 feet of snow in our part of southeastern British Columbia since Monday morning. I literally have not place to put it, as the snowbanks are at least 8 feet high on the edges of the driveway. Schools were shut down for two days, even the hospital was closed (except for emergencies, obviously). Yes, we are used to snow, but no, not like this...

Anyway, it affected my shave as well. I came inside, showered and then shaved my cold-irritated face. Used the PSO, which I hadn't in a few days, and got a good slick lather from the Baker Street. Have to use lots of product as the WD is a bit of a hog. Got a lot of redness even though the Polsilver felt very smooth. Not that close a shave, either. Used the Nivea to help soothe things, but overall, not a good start to the day!

Then, on the way to work, helped a stuck lady in a little Mazda get going again. Really fun in dress clothes, but I couldn't just drive past.
Hope you all are having a better day!
