A beautiful place. I recognize the light house. Then we drove over to Thurston's Lobster Pound for a lobster roll.
Ok. Most of the lights were built about the same time in that part of Maine. Owls Head is up the coast a bit outside Rockland. I was in Bar Harbor recently - went up on Cadillac Montain before sunrise to be the first in the United States that day to see it rise over the Atlantic. That is - along with about 300 of my closest friends. Everyone was up there - very moving experience. My ancestors come from the central coast of Maine - mostly Vinalhaven Island. I was born in Presque Isle, Maine.
I went up to Presque Isle when I was back there. With Loring AFB closed the entire area is really depressed economically. Still lots of potato farms but thats about it.

I bet your heart just broke when the entire franchise had to be closed down due to the excessive number of grease fires in the kitchens. Besides, what self-respecting penguin would ever be caught dead (or alive) in Kentucky?
