Take a peek at this video, pay attention to the dry method and how much soap he has in the brush. Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
Woops, dry method of lathering was in the video below. But the two are in the same series: Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk

Fatboy February!!!!! February 10 Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy (3) Blade - (1) Soap - Tabac Brush - Semogue 620 Post - Alum Welcome to the weekend for those of you who are on that normal schedule. For me, just another Friday/Wednesday. But, at least when I get home I can look forward to a shave. One of the benefits of night shaving - a nice way to end the day. Moving to the Bic Chrome Platinum in the Fatboy. I've had nothing but good shaves with this blade and I'm eager to see if it keeps the string of BBS shaves alive at 9 on the razor. We start, of course, on 3 and see what happens. Still with Tabac as I don't think it ever really runs out, even when I'm as close as I am. The Semogue 620 for an overabundance of lather. Two very smooth and comfortable passes that left me with only minor spotty stings from the alum. No issues at all with the shave and the result is a near BBS which sets up well for tomorrow's wide open shave. This blade is made in Greece, but I think it may have some help from cartel input as it is just such a great performer. Spritzed on just a hint of Tabac cologne for the night as SWMBO thinks this is the absolute best smelling soap in the bunch. If Momma's happy, I'm happy. Have a great Saturday!!
No shave today...to much wind and sun. It was 78f today, but the wind was gusting to 80 at times. I think I shall pull up a chair and read for a bit!
Day 3 with Simpson Tulip 3 It is a very cold Saturday in Seoul so time to break out the kettle and scuttle. It was the last shave for this tub of QCS so I scooped everything out and made lots and lots of very hot lather. Mastro Livi in the house for the shave and I did 4 passes and I had so much lather did a fifth pass. Just a tickle for the alum under my nose and zero feedback everywhere else. Enjoying a nice long lasting BBS now. Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A Sharpness A
February 11, 2017Gillette Aristocrat Jr 1949 Feather (3) “Amigos” Elite Ironwood Beehive with Envy White Czech and Speake Oxford & Cambridge Fine Lavender A very good shave this morning. Three passes and touch ups left me with a smooth irritation free near BBS. The Amigos brush is a joy to use providing wonderful scrub while whipping up the O&C easily. Oxford & Cambridge is a very good soap with top notch performance let down by its weak scent strength. This is a shame as the herbal lavender and peppermint scent is very pleasing. A splash of Fine Lavender with its matching scent makes a great end to the shave. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
No shave day for me today, but I'm still learning. The lathering discussion above was very interesting. Tomorrow's shave is going to be with Route 66 so I've got some stuff to work on. I'm all ready to go. Cleaned the 99r and loaded up a GSB. Then there'll be Menthol Monday where I can bust out the Proraso Green Shave Cream & AS. I'm psyched.
It is too bad that you don't care for the shaves that Aristocrat gives, cause it sure is a pretty one.
Thank Jared it really is in excellent shape. I will give it another try but it will have new home next year.
Hi guys... Same lineup today as yesterday, with the exception of using the Burma Shave brush today, and I set the Slim power at 6. I gather from the video and advice from you guys that the higher the power, the more it could(should)"pivot" for me. Correcting the razor angle is definitely my biggest challenge. But I once again alternated with the disposeABLE. By the way, I just bought a new bag of ABLE's and this time it's just a "pivot" as opposed to "pivot +". I will say I did a better loading job today-proud of THAT, at least.
The Plus may be a little stronger, but y'know I forgot if there's a REAL difference, as it's been a long time since I used the regular Pivot. As I recall, I went to a Plus after beginning to get annoyed with my Gilette "Good News" Pivot-realizing I needed something better. Then I noticed the Sensor Deuce, and we fast forward to now -).
Just to follow up-this will be my first shave using the "pivot"(no plus), with soap. I trust my face will continue to be "dolphin-smooth". .
I didn't read through all 67 pages of this thread, but how can you do a 30 day focus during a month with 28 days? Wouldn't it be a 28 day focus?
