    February 12 SOTD:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Electric Sheep
    Merkur Futur
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    The Veg

I had a great start to my day this morning. I got up went for a nice brisk walk, had a bowl of cereal and cup of coffee, got some pancake batter ready for the kids, and had my shower and shave all before my family got up. It was some nice quiet time. The Electric Sheep soap is just so slick, it is definitely one of my favorites. Inspired by @Paul Turner moving up to 6 with his Slim yesterday, I set the Futur on 4. I did two easy, smooth passes just a touch of clean up, and got a BBS. I was definitely taking my time, and everything went without incident. A little Veg to cap it off, and my Sunday was off to a great start. I hope everyone has a great day!

I do it in 10 second increments until it just turns to a liquid. You don't want to overcook it.

That's the joy of an adjustable. I was a setting 3 user, then a 5. Next thing I knew 7 was comfortable. Thanks to a Samurai and a Czar I focused up to 9. Not sure where to go next. Maybe a Futur in my future?

Excellent write up and photo Clint. Do you like the B 2 better than the Timeless .95 OC? I hope you enjoy your Sunday. :happy088:
We have a blizzard moving in on our area. The heavy snow has started, but the winds are calm so far.

Congratulation Clint, that must have been very difficult. I can only imagine what was starring at you. Would you mind stopping by bob Quinn's place and getting a picture for us? ;)

And then just let it cool naturally, stick it in the freezer?

I had my Futur on 4 this morning. I have a board that needs some planing, and almost used the Futur after my shave. The gap is definitely big.

I have used the B2 so much more than the Timeless so it is not a fair comparison. I find the B2 with a Feather Super to give just a bit closer shave that last a little longer. The Timeless is very very close and one of two DE razors I own that come close to my Artist Club SE razors for close long lasting 2 pass shaves. The Timeless .95 OC is my preferred super efficient DE just ahead of the Wolfman OC +.

Try and stay warm and avoid the weather as much as possible.

I need to stop by and do just that but I will wait for awhile first. I'm not sure I can survive the temptation again and I already have another brush on the way.

Another great pic Jim. On 4, the blade gap had to be huge.

    Razor: PAL Adjustable
    Blade: Chick
    Soap: Saponificio Varesino Tundra Artica
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Osage Rub
    Alum
    Aftershave: Avon Leather

First try of an SV soap and man is this stuff good; extremely slick, great protection, nice scent. I can see why its popular among straight shavers. I had read that this soap was thirsty and once I added a little more water than usual, it shined. The scent is woody with a nice leather and amber base. Great shave to start the day.

I opened my new bottle of Avon Leather today. Most Avon scents on me do not last very long so I applied the Osage. I'm tracking the time the scent lasts and will skip the Osage tomorrow for comparison. Have a great day folks!

Thank you, Clint! The gap is definitely bigger than anything I am used to. It is fun and interesting at the same time.

    '54 SS w Polsilver (3)
    Stirling Sharp Dressed Man (sample)
    TGN Finest Fan/ own handle
    Thayers Unscented
    Stirling Gentleman Balm

Day 10 of the 40s SS focus.
Shaved last night for my weekend shave. Weird shave, though. While the shave was close and comfortable, I was very red on my neck and jawline right away. The Thayers felt like it was burning a bit as well, which was very unusual. Thought I'd put a little balm on to help, I was quite red and stinging for several hours. It was the first day for the Sharp Dressed Man sample, and think it must be the culprit. Or maybe the scented balm on an already irritated mug? Have not had any issues with any other Stirling soaps (quite the opposite, actually!). Have used Gentleman, and Baker Street with no problem. The only other soap or cream that ever fried my face before was AoS Sandalwood Cream. I'm wondering what the essential or fragrance oil is that I seem to have a reaction to.
This was supposed to be the last day of the 40s SS focus, but with 2 iffy shaves out of the last 3, I want one more day with this razor/blade combo. Will change soaps, I think.
No planned shave today, and I wouldn't with a sketchy face (yes, yes it is always sketchy, I know...) anyway.
    Have a great Sunday everyone!

It does sound like a reaction of some sort. I hope the day off from shaving helps everything heal.

I understand completely Clint. I was kind of pulling your leg. I'm very luck I don't live any where near his Bob Quinn's place. :)
