Just picked up this little guy from the UK The super badger knot looks to be in nice condition in this Maw of London offering.
I do not recommend re-knotting. I think this one will work just fine. Besides, it takes done if the panache away. I do, however, suggest that you soak the bristles in a luke-warm water to soften the bristles. You need to do this first thing. Older bristles can be very breakable, and they need to be soft before cleaning. If all else fails, you can re-knot, but I would certainly go through the other steps first to try and keep it original and usable. Re-knotting would not be hard, but there is no going back afterwards. There are tons of videos on how to re-knot on YouTube. I apologize if any of this has been posted already. I didn't read through every entry.
Used? Worth nothing. New in box, probably about $10. If I remember right, he was able to save the knot.
The knot is in pretty good usable condition. I cleaned it and used it a couple times but have since put it the display case
The original post is dated August of 2015. Now I'm confused. I guess I should go back and read it all.
