    Razor: PAL Adjustable
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: RazoRock Tri-color
Soap: Crowne & Crane Tobacco Leaf and Amber
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Osage Rub
    Alum
    Aftershave: Fine Green Vetiver

First try of this soap and I have mixed feelings. The scent and post shave feel are both great however it wasn't very slick. The razor more drug across my face instead of gliding. Maybe I need to adjust the amount of water. The alum was silent and it's good enough to try it again. Have a great day folks!

    Razor: Schick M Adjustable
    Brush: Vulfix badger
    Lather: Vulfix Lavender shave cream
Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Fine Lavender aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Enjoyable shave this morning. Turned the Adjustable up to 6 after using it on 5 for a good many shaves. I liked 6 - smooth and easy to use. The Vulfix cream lathers up quickly and bountifully and the Fine aftershave was a great match. Overall a really nice shave.

    Enjoy your day!

Great pic, Perry. The black and white works really well with that setup.

Thanks, Jared! Do you enjoy seeing the "minty" adjustable turn up in photos? It's a great razor.

    Razor: 48-49 NDC Gillette Milord
Blade: Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus (3)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

For shave #3 on the Rubie, I upped the ante a bit by moving to the NDC Milord. This should be a bit more aggressive than the Sterling Tech was yesterday. My stubble was also a bit thicker owing to the shave from the Sterling.

As for the shave... It was obvious that the harshness/sharpness from Tuesday (shave #1) was back and a bit more noticeable. I'm not sure if this is a sign of the blade starting to go south or just the more aggressive posture of the 40's SuperSpeed design. (I'm inclined to believe the latter.) There was no sense of tugginess, though, and I finished my usual two passes with no blood and a DFS+. The Alum was a little warmer and is consistent with a feeling of having been exfoliated somewhat. Nothing unpleasant, though.

Assuming that I have a typical Rubie PP (and not some rogue "good" blade), then I'm starting to actually like them. Certainly more than the Brazilian-made Platinum Plus though I'm not convinced they'd replace the Astra SP as my "go-to" blade. Also, from what I've seen so far, they seem to be even more expensive than the GSB.

I was forced to do a cold-water shave today, so my "Plan" went awry. Rise Super Foam&Rise Cooling Balm. Nothing fancy. (Let me correct that by saying that I don't mean to indicate that my Rise products aren't fancy-of course they ARE...just had to throw in that double negatory)

February 16 (Thursday ) - new equipment focus

    Schick Krona
    GSB (1)
    Old drugstore boar brush
The Eternal Tub of TOBS Avocado Cream ( croap )
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original Astringent and Nivea Sensitive balm

Well, today's shave with the new GSB blade was just as smooth, efficient and apparently mild as yesterday's with the Voskhod. So I am inclined to attribute most of the smoothness to the Krona right now. I will know for sure tomorrow after I shave with the slightly used Topaz Platinum, a "less than top-tier" blade.

The alum did surprise me with some warmth on my upper lip and sting on my neck. I had noticed that my neck looked a bit red last night; I guess my extra ATG pass yesterday had stirred things up more than I realized at the time. I finished this morning's shave with a light coating of Nivea balm just to ensure there was no repetition today. My face has been getting dried out by the weather here anyway.

Overall I am quite impressed by the Krona. It doesn't score any points for looks or style but definitely rates high in function.

Day 3 of the humble Canadian Tech focus. Day 3 of the Voskhod. Will be swapping it out for an Astra tomorrow. Fine 3 + pass shave this morning. Not quite as close on the neck as I'd want, went ATG for an extra neck pass. The synthetic works up a great lather with the Stirling. Finished with some Nivea sensitive balm after the usual Thayers in case the neck didn't appreciate the extra attention.
    Have a great day all!

well I just cleaned it yesterday and put in a Perma-Sharp blade. Nothing exciting to report yet. I want to see if I can do one whole pass with it and be satisfied.

Sometimes the progress is a bit slow, but try to learn something from each use. I was definitely a bit inconsistent with each shave when starting, which got discouraging at times. Looking back, the bad shaves were the learning experiences that helped me improve the most. You'll get there.

well, ,let's see how the Perma does. You're right-it'll be a lot of experimenting before I feel confident.

    Henckels Friodur 4/8 straight
    Fatboy GSB
    AoS Oud Shave cream
    AoS Oud aftershave balm
    AoS Oud Suede cologne

I face lathered my new AoS shave cream using a Parker finest badger brush and took two passes with my new to me Henckels straight. It is very sharp. I got most of the job done with the Friodur and cleaned up with my fatboy set to 6. Smoothed everything over with the AoS aftershave balm for a solid DFS. No nicks cuts or weepers. I have a sample of the AoS Oud Suede cologne that I used generously to start a very Oudy day.

I didn;t feel good about putting cold water on a brush and thus in shave soap-which is why I did the Rise double-whammy.

If you ever feel up for it, give it a try. I am a cold water shaver, and I find it to be soothing. Granted, I live in SE Texas, so the water is never that cold, but I like it.
