Very nice Sunday morning shave. Just me and one of the shepherds in the house. She likes to hang out with me when I shave. It's kind of cool. At least somebody in my house thinks I have a cool hobby. Or maybe she just wanted her breakfast.

It is kind of funny that I was going to close out the month with some dealer's choice shaves; using some neglected razors. Well when I stand in front of the den and look at them, my choice of razors is one of these shavettes. The act of removing whiskers has always just been part of the process for me. It was either comfortable or not, and I finished with a good shave or not. Very mechanical. Since I started shaving with these razors, it has become an enjoyable part of the process; really a lot of fun.

I hope you all have a good Sunday afternoon.

It was injectors that got me headed down the fork in the trail. Let me know when you want to try one. I have a G that could become the 30 day passaround razor.

Thank you! I get lucky every now and then with a photo!

I went Setting Neal again today, but I skipped the parts that were nicked up. I may look a little funny, but that is just a day in the life for me.

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Maggards London Barber Shop
    Merkur Futur
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Maggards London Barber Shop AS

Setting Neal again for this morning's shave, but I did remember to shave around the cut up parts a bit. Due to that I am barely SAS, as there is a large patch on my chin and a spot on my neck with no reduction. But, the lather never turned pink today. Maggards London Barber Shop is such a great scent; my middle daughter says it is now her favorite of my AS. Of course, I think that Proraso Red was last week, so this could change. I hope everyone is having a great Sunday.

Thank you Jim! When Chris @americanshamrock chose several TSD members to test his experimental shave cream I gladly joined in. He made two batched from the base. One is Lavender, the other York peppermint patty scented. Both are heavy on the menthol to the point of numbing my lip if the lather strays. I'm looking forward to when the next batch has cured. Although we didn't sign a non-disclosure agreement I'll keep that interesting mysterious ingredient quiet (while teasing about it ;)). It's close enough to other fine shave creams in performance that I'll swipe my debit card to own some.
The rest of that setup pleases me no end. I'm a happy shaver!

I may take you up on that down the trail. Still having too much fun learning the in's and out's of DE's!

Nice looking setup. I love the Futur. It is the only DE I can think of, that when set on "Neal", is like participating in an extreme sport. The amount of exposure with relatively little support, makes for one of the most interesting blade feel experiences I have ever tried. And the loudest. Every whisker is like a seperate ping. Couple that with the fact that it weighs six and a half pounds, and you feel like you are about to push off on a black diamond ski slope every time you pick it up. It really is a cool razor.

Don't wait too long. I passed up several Schick injectors in my thrift store and flea market shopping early on. They are generally less expensive than vintage DE's. The blades, while not so many to choose from, are heavier gauge steel and give longer service life. The best part is they shave with great ease and a short learning curve. The results are as Chris @Bama Samurai says nearly straight razor smooth. Or did he say they are a Gateway razor to Straights? Either way Injectors are good stuff.

    also @RyX

Schick Injectors, particularly earlier ones, are the closest thing to SR results that I've found. They are superb tools, and the G model is my fave safety razor design. After you see all you wanna see of DE world, I strongly suggest trying a Schick. They are intuitively designed, and the blades last far longer than DE. I stand by my comment that is a gateway drug to straight razors. You've been warned. ;)
