This is for all you DIY members. The rules are simple. Show any shave related product that you can make for under $2 bucks. If you are interested, all you have to do is say I'm in, and contribute a gift. (Pack of razors, soap, etc. ). Members can enter more than once, as long as they provide another gift for the winner. As we all need time for family and your entry, the deadline is the last day in March. . Moderators please chime in for a way to vote for the winner. There is not a price on what gift you contribute. The more that enter, the larger the winner will receive. If you already own something required for your entry, you still have $2 bucks to play around with. Just say I'm in.! :) if you want, you can say what you are making, or say Secret ! Have fun, and share your mojo !

    I'm in.

Home-made razor stand...two pieces of scrap wood (from work, $0), cut the notches with a Dremel I've had for like 20 years, base holes drilled out with a 7/16" bit, and some of my landlady's white spray paint.

I've got blades I can contribute...Astra, Derby, Dorco, 7 o'clocks, Feathers, mix 'em up or all one brand. IDK, what...couple of tucks? Whatever. I gots tons. I'll make up a good sample pack.

Edit: I reckon a mixed dozen tucks should do, eh?

Good looking finished product, and you can't argue with the cost of materials. How much time did you put into it?

Not much, maybe 30-45 minutes initially, a bit more touching up, and a couple of coats of paint.

I am pretty sure there are some popsicle stick razors around here that would come in at under $2.

Subscribed to the thread, and possibly entering. If I do enter, my contribution to the pot will be a cased user grade super speed razor and a selection of blades. I'm also going to keep my $2 project secret for now.

Instead of putting up four posts, I'm just grouping these together to save space. These brushes were all made from flashlights that were in a "junk" box. The knots all came from China on Ebay bidding in lots. The first two knots, badger, cost $1.90 each. The second two, boar, cost $1.35 each. So each brush comes in under $2.00 each. The last one, black with ribs and grooves, can extend another 1/4" in length, if needed, as can be seen on the second picture. Yep, I get bored and do things like this.

Nice. :) They look nicer than some brushes from big name companies ! I think so , but it is my humble opinion.
