SOTD: February 23, 2017 Today was my first straight razor shave (at least first by my own hand) and it went better than I expected. Boker 1101 Straight WD Poor Man's Strop '57 Super Speed for touch ups Personna Blue in the SS GBS Synthetic Brush Stirling Executive Man Soap Stirling Executive Man AS My Grandfathers Old Spice mug I got started by watching Lynn Abrams video about stropping and then went to town with 50 passes on the strop. I manage to nick the strop after the last turn but I knew it would happen eventually. I had planned to the take advice about only doing one cheek with my dominant hand and then doing more and more each day but I went ahead and did both my dominant and nondominant hands for their respective cheeks and did my neck on the dominant side. My nondominant hand made me uncomfortable on my neck so I switched back to the right hand and then finished my Adam's apple with the SS. When all was said and done I had no nicks, bleeders, weepers or noticeable razor burn and although it wasn't the closest shave I've ever had it was fine enough that I am already finding the return of my RAD.
