I had the same problem with a lot of artisan soaps when I started. I had painful shaves for 6 or 7 months until I finally found some soaps and creams that worked for me. All of the Proraso creams worked exceptionally well for me so they might be worth checking out if you haven't tried them. As for Stirling, I have four of their aftershave samples (Executive Man, Frozen Tundra, Ozark Mountain, and Coniferous) and I'm pretty happy about the fact that none of them seem to cause any issues for me. Executive Man is one of my favorite fragrances of all time and when I finish this batch of samples, I will definitely be picking up a full size bottle along with some more aftershave samples. I can't wait to try Sandpiper and Sharp Dressed Man. I haven't used any Stirling soaps so I can't promise that the aftershaves won't cause any issues for you but it sounds like we are both sensitive to a lot of soaps in general, so hopefully the aftershaves will work out for you.
Quite so. In fact, I am thinking a little iced pineapple for today. I love that scent. Don't see it get much love around here though. I really hope it makes a reappearance this year, because I never bought a full size bottle of the aftershave, and I wish I had.

Great article. From what little dealings I have had with Rod and Amanda they sound like great people which is all the more reason I will continue to support them and their products.
Stirling Bee's Wax formula doesn't use lanolin (I believe), so you can likely rule that out. Since you can use his splashes without issue, it's not likely one of the oils used in his products. Cella is also a beef tallow soap, so tallow is unlikely unless it's the way it's processed. As an exercise, you might try one of Stirling's mutton-tallow soaps. They're quite good too and, I believe, he's coming out with new scents for them this spring. Just some thoughts...
Without meaning to be picky, the article calls Rod "Rob" at one point. Perhaps a typo, but someone should have checked it.
Jeff, Back in the " Menthol Monday threads" menthol ruled. With Rods soaps I am enjoying new boundaries. It's like being back in the saddle again.
