Jared, congrats on the BK12! It absolutely dwarfs your Chubby 2, and I like how you describe its performance. I enjoy using my BK8 and BK4. The BK4 is my travel brush.

    007 also uses a BK12:

I picked up both of my Kent brushes here: http://www.feelunique.com/brands/kent/for-men-shaving . I don't see a BK12 listed, but they might be able to get you one. :shaver

His pictures are truly excellent - and I'm not just saying that in fear of him going insane if I don't.

I've ordered from both with no problems. I can get two bottles of Myrsol aftershave shipped from Spain for less than one bottle here in the states. You just have to be a little patient with the shipping.

Your BK12 could almost hold as much lather as a Pomeranian. But with training, the Pomeranian could load itself.

My Sharp Stars finally made the ocean journey (apparently) after three weeks. Now stateside, last seen in Wassau, NY. I also have 240 mixed Russians that took much less time to cross the pond and they were last seen in Stamford, CT. Now, could some explain to me how to packages, both sent from Moscow, somehow ended up in two different East Coast post offices before they headed to STL?

My Russians made it stateside today. They arrived in NY and departed NY. I am hopeful.

So I'm not home right now. Still in Phoenix. In the last 5 days, I have had four packages delivered. My wife was curious, so she opened them. First one had six newly honed straights. Second one he'd the raffle door prize of a Chinese DE to try out. Third one had my raffle win of Soap Exchange shaving soap, which I added four bath bars to the order. The last box was a return of two razors from my straight loaner kit. I'm not sure she believes that I am actually trying to reduce the size of the Den right now

Here's the spin. Raffle prizes are just that. Prizes. You were just making a small donation. Not your fault you won. Six newly honed straights - just already existing razors you sent out to have some help with honing on. No additions there. (even if they are, deny). Returned loaner kit - same thing. Just old timers coming home. Net gain of zero on the den. See? Nothing to it.

Now, if that doesn't work, I can have my wife call your house and ask for you and when she says you're not there just hang up. That might provide the diversion you need to escape the razor problems. Now as for the diversion to save you from the diversion.........yeah I've got nothing.

Thanks, Charlie. I think it is going to be a fun brush, and as Clint said, it will definitely help me chew up some soaps.

    Fatboy February!!!!!

    February 27
    Razor - 1959 Gillette Fatboy (6)
    Blade - ladas-super-stainless.jpg (1)
Soap - Route 66 Sweeney Todd
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

I switched out the Rapira Super Stainless for the Ladas Super Stainless. Still in the same family, of course, but the Ladas is a bit better blade in my opinion. This has always been a favorite Super Stainless for me. Chose the Route 66 as I'm going through the three new soaps for me trying to see if one is a stand out over the others. I have an inkling of which I prefer but still working on it.

Had to add a bit of water to the brush while lathering to get it to produce like I wanted but I think I shortchanged the load a bit. I may have shook the brush one time too many so most likely operator error. Once I got a little water in it all was well. Nice slick lather and two passes and touch up got me to near-BBS and a successful conclusion to tonight's festivities.

One more shave in Fatboy February and I'll stick with this setup and switch to Stirling soap and rotate the brush. I've thoroughly enjoyed this razor since it arrived this month. Fanboyish or not.....this is a fine shaving machine and definitely one of my favorites. Hope your Monday wasn't too tough on you!

I made it to Salt Lake City with a new razor in my kit. I packed the Wade and Butcher frameback I won in the TSD raffle. I just realized I forgot to do a test shave with it. It certainly looks like it has a nice bevel. This could be an interesting week

Sampling soaps from the Pass-around. Dapper Dragon sounds interesting. Green Dragon listed as a tallow & shea butter formula; cedar and bergamot blend with leather, rosemary and lily of the valley for a heady aroma. Turned out to be light on scent. Performance was acceptable bordering on mediocre. So now I've been there, done that one. Can't blame the shiny new Feather or the Fattie on number 9 for WTG, number 6 for the balance. The shave was flawless into the DFS range. The soap just didn't impress. Alum swiped smoothly quiet belying the sharp blade/aggressive razor paradigm. Technique Trumps Tools. Heroic finish, I'll go back for another dose before bedtime.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Sure, what the Hell. If things go the same as last year, I'm done for a good long while now. My overall, must stick to it goal is that I have to stay revenue neutral. I can really only buy if I sell. I am running out of things I would sell, and my Paypal balance is spent up, so I am back to my spare change jar method of den funding. I just looked this morning. I have a grand total of $13 in there, so it'll be a while before I can afford to buy anything else.
