It is no laughing matter. Those things are dangerous.

Yes, besides being hilarious, the posts were very educational. No pain sticks for me. :)

These Feather SS comments are awesome. I personally think it is the worst shaving device ever made. I think they were actually designed by Gillette to keep people afraid of open bladed razors. I have two scars on my face, and both were from that damnable Feather.

I have my friends to thank for that. :)

The Feather SS is terrible but the DX or a CJB is better. No blood or scars, trust me ;)

Kai too. Night and day. I haven't tried a DX, but understand that they are very close.

Tonight's shave was with a nice German blade, that I honed, and restored, a while back. I haven't used it in a while, so I gave it a two pass shave, and it went very smooth and comfortably. No Nicks, cuts, or weepers.

I tried out my recently acquired Genco vanadium razor.

First, I have to tell you that this razor was advertised as "shave ready". It was not even close. Under a loupe, you could see there wasn't even a bevel on it. If I were a beginner, I wouldn't even have looked and I would probably dismiss SR shaving after the first 5 minutes. Thank goodness I've learned how to hone!

So, I ran the Genco over the stones last night and it took a great edge! The shave this morning was smooth and comfortable. It was a very nice shave. This razor is a good addition to my den and it's one I'll look forward to in the rotation.

Otto Busch World Master Solingen Full Hollow 6/8th
    Hans Baier Silver Tip
    Haslinger Tallow Soap

I had a Cracking Shave this Morning with My Otto Busch 6/8th..This SR was Honed on by a Trusted Swedish Vendor on his Best Japanese Stones.. Natural Edges Sure Feel Different on the Face to Synthetics in My Experience.. They Can Feel Mellower on the Face for Sure whilst Sharp..Whether the Overall Shave is Smoother or Not than a Synthetic Edge is another Story..I Am Not Convinced but I Do Like the Edge on this SR..:D

Nice shaver:) I really like the way the Dovo 6/8 shoulder-less blades handle.

todays shave was with my vintage boker king cutter. lovely razor with a ZG edge.
the aftershave and soap i bought yesterday because my girlfriend loved the scent.the aftershave is fine, but the soap is useless. making a thin lather that disappears almost instantly. so this time i loaded the brush with soap and added a pea size amount of scentless shave cream. then there was a lather explosion.after my two passes the brush was still full.so that will be the method when using this soap from now.

We are in agreement, I have 2 Dovo shoulderless blades and they are a joy to shave with.

Tonight's shave was with one of my "Rescue Razors"(rust, tarnish, and broken scales). It turned into an absolutely spectacular razor to shave with. A $10 investment, but it feels like a high end razor. I had a two pass, super smooth shave, that ended with a very smooth face. No touch-ups.
