Woodsy Friday
Höðr is a strong and very woodsy scent, with the usual top performance of Soap Smooth. Three drama free passes. The balm is creamy and effective, with quite a strong scent in it's own right, that I can catch a whiff of for several hours. This time I decided to spice it up with a bit of Beaudelaire.

It's as cold as hell here in Montreal but I still wanted to freeze my face off so I did it the Canadian way with the awesome Polar Vortex soap. Man alive, does this stuff ever lather like a maniac and is it ever COLD. Ok, not Glacial cold but I'd say easily as cold as Rod's Frozen Tundra. The Rubby Dubby Doo added its own heavy-duty freeze and did it ever feel great. Another effortless, terrific BBS shave!

Not a huge fan of this Russian cream. It worked well, but my memory of the scent was different than when I had a tube a few years ago. Maybe I will grow to like it by the end of this small tube.

Fat Friday! Smooth and comfortable shave today with the G8 injector. Exceptional lather from Mitchell's and a nice finish with Fine American Blend. I always enjoy my Friday shaves.

Day 9 of 30 days of straights

I had three tests today, all of which I believe I passed.

First test: This was a 4/8, instead of a 6/8, which I had assumed shaved differently. It does a little bit, the 4/8 seeming easier with which to hold the angle. No problems adjusting to the different blade.
Second test: This is a square nose, as opposed to a round nose. I found no difference at all other than it was significantly easier to get the whiskers directly under my nose.
Third test: This razor was received yesterday in decent condition. I refreshed the edge on an extra-fine and an extra-extra-fine stone before stropping. The blade turned out to be as sharp as the last razor I was using (shave-ready by Whipped Dog). This tells me that I may actually know how to refresh a blade.

Overall it was a DFS with three very small weepers, all in the same area.

After 9 days I have come to the conclusion that it is possible for mere mortals to shave with a straight.

Another 'keeper' from my SR stash, a beautiful JWest razor whose performance matches it's slick appearance. Top-shelf shave this morning. Have a blessed Friday, gents!
