I want to praise stirling soap for offering affordable refill pucks as well as 1oz sample pucks. Wonderful to have a affordable artisan! I have purchased many sample and refill pucks and there all slick and offer a great tallow shave. I have purchased empty gold color 3 oz twist containers to store them, even the samples
I cut the label and tape them on the lids and they look and work wonderfully.

Weekends are typically my SR shave days. The DOC is a beautifully machined piece of hardware. Everything about the look of the razor is nice...I think with some focus and use, the shaves will be better. I may fiddle around with the idea of not tightening the handle all the way. Today was the total opposite of the shave spectrum. I used the R41 and experienced a very efficient satisfying BBS shave

    Brush: - Semogue Special Edition 2012 Badger/Boar knot 24/55mm
Lather: - Stirling Piacenza Shaving Soap
Razor: - Irving Barber Company (IBC) Shavette
Blade: - Feather Artist Club Pro Guard #1
Post Shave: - T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent / Nivea Sensitive Aftershave Splash

First time ever in my life shaving with the Irving Barber Company (IBC) shavette today with a Brandy handle since I've been using a safety razor for almost 2 years and I was bloody scared shitless :shocked003:. The IBC weight feels amazing and the balance is perfect only with my good shave right hand, when changing over to my left hand which is called the non-dominant hand is going to take a while which is pretty hard to shave with the non-dominant hand. Couple of minor nicks and cuts on the left side of my face and I thought the Feather ProGuard would minimize those issue, I was shaving a little bit rough as my weak non-dominant left hand wasn't as good as my good shave right hand.

However I can tell that Freddy Krueger is smiling at me so much as a smartarse because he loves watching me shaving with my weak non-dominant left hand, any way Freddy Krueger got me he's not too happy as he wanted to see more blood bath shave next time during my next shave with the IBC with the Feather ProGuard blade.

    Razor - CJB Greager
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Stirling Bay Rum
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
Post - Cold compress, Alum, Styptic, Shame

Well I haven't bled in awhile. Kind of figured my best chance was on the Ides Shave. I was wrong. Switched to the CJB Greager tonight with a fresh Feather Pro blade. The Stirling and Wolf Whiskers gave a fantastic lather. Nice and slick and protective. Of course, protection only goes so far when an idiot is at the helm of the razor.

I was thinking of a few different things as I began my shave. First of all was the difference in how this razor feels compared to the Feather SS. the Greager has just a straight angle down to the blade without the lip of the Feather. Definitely a bit different feel and it is perhaps a bit easier to create a cut without that extra lip on the Feather. However, my right face shave went well, felt good, was effective, so I started on my neck. Seemed good until I went down the center and.....as I got right to the adam's apple.....my brain said out of nowhere "better add a little pressure to get over that". Well, if you're ever in that position and your brain says that.....do NOT listen. In fact, stop, put the razor down, and walk away. I felt the bite instantly and just waited for the blood. It wasn't quite as bad as I feared, though it was a nice steady drip. Not a fountain but a constant drip. Hmmmmmm.

Went ahead and switched to the left side with my left hand. Face was great, went down to the neck, good, no problem, went to the center next to where I cut myself and.....as I approached that area again.....my brain said......"DON'T PRESS". So, I pressed. Bam, another bite right beside the first one. And.....drip........drip.......drip. Only with two of them together it was almost rhythmic.

Said a few adult words, rinsed, relathered and went for the second pass and as I worked the right side I just started counting. One, two, three, four.....what the. Yep, by the time I was done with a second pass I had four minor nicks and two dripping cuts. A bloody mess, is how the British would say it....only quite literally in my case.

Cold compress on the adam's apple then alum then a nice dose of styptic to dance to. Alum over the whole thing and I felt every little nick. Burn baby burn.

The finish? It's a DFS but a bloody bad one. I'm not sure if the new Feather Pro was just too sharp for my over-confidence or if this razor actually is prone to this. Of course, it could be my brain that needs to be replaced as well. Hope your weekend starts off better than mine! And I still have two more days of work too!!

There's just nothing like a classic. Musgo Real classic, that is!
It has an incredible scent. The soap lathers like a champ and the aftershave is one of the best smelling and top working aftershaves out there.

    My wife is da BOMBBBBBBBBBBBBB!!!

Not only is she gorgeous, she knows what kind of shaving stuff I enjoy. This Frozen Cranberry soap from Soap Smooth has such an amazing, refreshing scent and the lather explodes off the brush. I didn't realize how strong the menthol effect is until half-way through the first pass when it suddenly kicked in. The second pass froze the heck out of me, but felt so wonderful. This soap has an excellent post-shave feeling also in addition to its menthol effect. The Lucky Tiger a/s cream gave me a great feeling of moisturizing and soothing as well as a very good cooling sensation. The Fougere Santal aftershave from Reef Point smells beautiful - it definitely has notes of Indian sandalwood in it, and it's got plenty of menthol in it. I got plenty of kisses after I slapped it on from the wife and also from our daughter. BBS again in two easy passes! :happy088: :happy088:
